Thanks to a generous donation from Kay O’Neal, we added 36 more items to the reserve food supply for our new food and hygiene pantry.

The pantry is located outside at 314 S. Macoupin in Gillespie. It is accessible 24/7. Leave what you can, and take what you need.

Within 24 hours, we already had items taken from the food and hygiene pantry. That speaks volumes about the need for mutual aid in our local communities.

Also, today, we had someone add items to the pantry. To whomever that person was, thank you! This is what community looks like! ❤️

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated non-perishable food and hygiene items during the American Empathy Project this past weekend!

The Macoupin County Humanists received a grant from the American Humanist Association, which we used to purchase this food pantry and food items to get started.

The pantry is located at the future home of Beatnik Books, at 314 S. Macoupin in Gillespie. Leave what you can and take what you need.

Also, thanks to the volunteers from Macoupin County Indivisible who helped during the food drive and helped assemble the pantry. Thank you!

Clean clothes shouldn’t be something people have to stress about.

We’re raising money to support Free Laundry Days in our community through the Macoupin & Montgomery County ROSC - MMCR Council.

They’re also providing mental health and substance use resources right there at the laundromat. Meeting people where they’re at. No barriers.

$5 covers one load
$15 covers a full visit (3 loads)

👉 Our goal is 100 loads

This program is fully donation run and every dollar goes toward helping someone in a real, tangible way.
