Mini Camp is more than summer fun, it’s a place where kids build friendships, explore their community, and feel supported. ☀️💙

For Daylyn, BDA’s Clinical Coordinator, it’s also been a reminder of what makes this team special: staff who welcome one another with open arms and step up whenever someone needs a helping hand.

From park trips to outdoor activities, even on the hottest days, it’s all worth it when we see our learners connecting, growing, and having fun together.

💦 Learning doesn’t have to happen sitting at a table. Sometimes, it looks like THIS. ☀️

Thursdays at BDA’s OLC Mini Camp are all about water play, community experiences, connection, and FUN!

For our learners, getting out into the community and participating in activities alongside peers creates natural opportunities to practice social skills, build independence, experience new environments, and, most importantly, just enjoy being a kid. 💙

And when the sun finally comes out? You better believe we’re taking advantage of it! ☀️💦

We love creating opportunities where learning, engagement, and meaningful experiences happen naturally.

✨ New faces, new connections, and a new school year ahead!

We loved welcoming our newest team members at our New Hire Meet & Greet as we get ready for September! 🎉

Our incoming Behavior Technicians had the opportunity to connect with leadership, meet fellow team members, learn more about the BDA community, and even check out some of our Karma Kollection gear. 🙌

Starting a new role is about more than onboarding, it’s about feeling connected to the people, culture, and mission behind the work. We’re excited to see the impact this group will make supporting learners across our school and home-based programs this year. 💙

Here’s to new beginnings, strong teams, and an incredible year ahead! 🚀

Growth will expose what your systems can’t sustain.

As an organization scales, things shift. Data gets messy. Processes drift. Trust gets tested. And sometimes, the systems that got you here aren’t the systems that will take you where you’re going next.

But those moments can also create clarity.

They reveal the leaders who step up.
The people who choose accountability.
The systems that need to be rebuilt.
And the parts of the mission that are worth protecting.

After 22 years, the goal isn’t simply to keep growing.

It’s to grow with better data, stronger systems, the right people, and a purpose that isn’t for sale.

Sometimes the next chapter doesn’t require a completely new dream.

It requires rebuilding the infrastructure strong enough to carry the dream for another decade.

Here’s to the reboot. 🚀

Last week, we came together for our Hackers Ball, a day filled with teamwork, friendly competition, laughter, & plenty of fun. 🎉

But what makes events like this truly special is the people behind them.

We are incredibly grateful for the staff who show up every day for our learners and the families we serve. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment are what make everything we do possible. 💙

Thank you to everyone who makes BDA what it is, and especially to the people who continue to show up for our learners every single day.

We’re grateful for you! ❤️

🚨 The fastest way to stop fraud isn’t always the most comfortable.

Most organizations don’t have a fraud problem, they have a controls problem.

When expenses are managed through emails, spreadsheets, and good intentions, mistakes (and worse) slip through the cracks.

In this reel, we break down:
✔️ Why receipt matching is a non-negotiable financial control
✔️ How implementing Expensify streamlined credit card management
✔️ The difficult decision to freeze 76 company credit cards overnight
✔️ Why sometimes you have to create short-term pain to protect the long-term future of an organization

Strong systems aren’t built because everything is going well. They’re built so your business can withstand when things aren’t.

If you’re leading a growing organization, this conversation is a reminder that the right controls create the freedom to scale with confidence.

🎧 What’s one financial control every business should implement sooner rather than later?

Your organization isn’t too big for behavior science. Your systems just aren’t built to scale.

One of the biggest mistakes leaders make is trying to manage a growing team the same way they managed a team of 10.

What works for 10 people breaks at 100.
What works at 100 falls apart at 1,000.

Behavior change isn’t about working harder, it’s about designing better systems.

As behavior analysts, we’re trained to collect data, identify patterns, and change behavior. But once you move into leadership, the challenge shifts.

The question becomes: How do you create systems that reinforce the right behaviors at scale?

The answer isn’t more spreadsheets.
It’s standardized expectations, meaningful KPIs, rapid feedback loops, and reinforcement that people actually contact.

Whether you’re leading a clinic, a school, or a growing business, the same principle applies: You can’t scale excellence if every person is measured differently.

Behavior doesn’t become less important as organizations grow.
It becomes even more important to measure the right things.

💭 What’s one KPI every leader should be tracking that most organizations completely overlook?

If your team only shows up because of the paycheck, you don’t have a culture problem, you have a leadership problem.

The strongest teams aren’t built on perks, pizza parties, or motivational speeches.

They’re built on trust.

When people know the person next to them has their back, they show up differently. They communicate better. They push harder. They stay longer. They don’t want to let the team down.

People rarely leave because of their coworkers.
They leave because leadership failed to create an environment worth staying in.

Culture isn’t what’s written on the wall.
It’s what people feel when things get hard.

Build the kind of team that makes people want to go another decade together.
