15-18 Records Fall at TYR Senior Mets SCY Championships
The Marlins set records in 2 individual events and in 3 relay events at this year TYR SCY Senior Metropolitan Championships held February 17-20, 2022, at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, NY.
Individually, Sabrina Johnston broke her own Marlins Record in the 15-18 girls 200 free with a time of 1:47.22 - Her previous record of 1:48.55 was set on February 19, 2021.
Sabrina also broke the 15-18 girls 100 fly record of 54.05 that was set in 2012 by Morgan Karetnick! Sabrina swam the 100 fly in 53.84 to set the new record.
In addition to the individual events, our 15-18 Marlins set 3 new Relay Records!
Female 400 yd Freestyle Relay: 3:26.12 - Mary Grace Guzzino, Ava Borowski, Lucy Walter, Sabrina Johnston. The old record of 3:28.53 was set in 2009 by Betsy Weston, Kim Holden, Morgan Karetnick and Ali Polhill.
Male 800 yd Freestyle Relay: 6:46.01 - Evan Liu, Nikita Sakharuk, James Pastore, Hudson Chung. The previous record of 6:54.20 was set in 2016 by River Elms, Tyler Hill, Graham Blair and Garrett Kaufmann.
Male 400 Medley Relay: 3:24.46 - James Pastore, Nikita Sakharuk, Hudson Chung, Evan Liu. The same 4 swimmers already owned the previous record of 3:25.19 set 12/8/2021.
