Transportation Resources Access Imagine needing to go to the doctor but not being able to drive there yourself?

The TRA Call Center provides a range of transportation and aging in place-related services. We enroll riders, manage rider requests, and notify drivers of pending rides. When TRA is not able to provide a ride, our Call Center team researches and refers clients to other available ride options, often helping to coordinate end-to-end service. The Call Center integrates with the TRA Resource Hub, a cl

earinghouse of resources, information and referral services designed to provide seamless access to services for older adults age 60+ and adults with vision impairment age 21+, their caregivers, and families. Medical rides are provided by a network of volunteer drivers who bring older adults and adults with low vision to medical appointments.

Meet Rebecca, TRA volunteer driver and 2nd year graduate student studying physical therapy. Rebecca focuses on her riders during the trips to medical care “For some people, the ride and having someone to talk to might be one of a limited number of social interactions that day,” she said. “I ask how they’re feeling, and we talk about whatever they want to talk about.” Read more at my-tra.org/news.

Drivers, is your driver license up for renewal? You may want to opt for an Enhanced or REAL ID. It is not required but is a federally compliant DMV-issued driver license, learner permit, or non-driver ID that is required to board a domestic flight (within the U.S.) or enter certain federal buildings, unless you have a valid pass
If your New York State license or ID does not have a star or a flag on it, then you do not have a REAL ID-compliant document.
