Hello everyone. We will have a food giveaway this Monday, June 22nd, from 8am-10am at the Mount Judea School Food Pantry. This is not for commodities, anyone can come. We have potatoes, tomatoes and bananas to give away. Please bring a bag or two or a box, if you have it. Also, please help spread the word that we are in huge need of a big deep freezer chest. Ours went out and we use it soooo much! We can usually keep it full and now we don't have a way to store extra meat, breads, etc.

Well, as luck would have it, our big freezer went out at the Mount Judea School Food Pantry. We use this soooo much! If anyone has a deep chest freezer they would like to donate, we (and the whole community) would be so very grateful. ❤️ Thank you to all our amazing volunteers for all the time, care and love you put into our community.

Reminder!!! Commodities is the 3rd Friday of every month at the Mount Judea School Food Pantry. Commodities are this Friday, June 19th, from 9am-Noon. Commodities DO have income guidelines that we must follow. Commodities are available for those meeting income guidelines and that have not received commodity benefits yet this month. You can only get commodities once a month, no matter where you decide to pick them up at. To sign up for commodities, you will need to bring a driver's license that matches your current address. If your identification doesn't have the same address as where you are living, you will need to bring a utility bill in your name with your current address on it.
In case you haven't been yet, the new food room is located on the Mount Judea School property, across from the Kent General Store. You will want to pull in front of the new gym and drive all the way around the back and come up to the house that way.
We will also have some other food available that are NOT commodities: potatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and bananas! 😊 These are available to anyone while supplies last.
See you this Friday! Please consider bringing your own bag if you have one. Our volunteers will be there to help. 😊

9am...Update....we are out of buttermilk and coffee creamer.
We have food to give away! 😊 Friday, May 29th, from 8am to noon at the Mount Judea School Food Pantry we will have sweet potatoes, russet potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes, sugar snap peas, carrots, buttermilk, and coffee creamer to give away. There will be a limit on picking up for other families. This is NOT commodities and anyone can come get some while supplies last. A HUGE THANK YOU to our volunteers for driving in today's rain to go get these items. ❤️

We know it's kinda far out, but the Mount Judea Heritage Fall Festival is scheduled for October 10th this year!!! Mark your calendars now, so that you don't accidentally scheduled something else that day! It's a full day of live music, food, vendors, old time tales, contests, history, old timey ways teaching and more!!! We will be looking for vendors and demonstrators soon.
Speaking of calendars.....we are now accepting photos for next year's 2027 calendar!
July 31st will be the deadline again. We are looking for Newton County pictures this time. Any beautiful scenery, historic places, things that plug you into or draw you to Newton County. So dust off those albums again or pull up your camera downloads and find some great pictures to submit. Even if you don't find any that you want to share with us, we bet you'll find some smiles and maybe some laughs. ❤️ Instructions for picture submissions are below. We will go through all the pictures received and if your picture is chosen to be used in next year's calendar, you will get one of those calendars for free. 😊

For picture submission:

1. The picture must be owned by you and/or your family. If we choose your picture for the calendar, you agree that we may use the picture for Mt Judea Area Alliance projects, such as the calendar.

2. Please include names of people in the pictures, if any, as well as the location of the picture and dates if possible.

3. Please submit only a copy of your picture(s) (a digital copy is fine.... take a picture with your phone and send it to us on Facebook). We don't want any originals so that they don't get lost.

4. If you prefer to drop a copy of your picture(s) off in person, please put it/them in an envelope with your name and contact information, as well as picture description details listed above, and give it to any of our members or mail it to us at MountJudeaAreaAlliance, PO BOX 6, Mt Judea, AR 72655.

5. Deadline for submission for pictures to be considered is July 31st, 2026.
