FINAL COUNT = 192 BAGS!

So far this year MJHS had made monthly food distributions to 166 households made up of 289 adults and 153 children, including 27 disabled people. We purchased $40,000 in food and personal care items at wholesale prices to supplement food donations given to the pantry. We buy things like eggs, meat, soap, and toilet paper.

We are much more than a food pantry though. During 2025, we have given over $55,000 in financial assistance to fifty-two Mount Joy households in the form of rent, mortgage or utility payments. All financial aid was paid directly to their landlords and utility companies.

An all-volunteer Board of Trustees and staff operate MJHS. These volunteers have given more than 3500 hours of their time this year without pay. They serve out of their love and concern for others.

We are able to help those in need because of the generosity of our donors. If you are able, we ask you to consider making a donation to help us continue this important work.

Your tax-deductible donation can be directly mailed to:

THANK YOU MOUNT JOY!!! Boy Scouts collected over 930 bags of food! If they missed you, or you want to donate … we are here Wed & Fri from 9-11am.

Anyone interested in donating to us during this time of extreme need, please visit our website to see a list of current items needed (https://mountjoyhelpingservices.com/food-bank/). Drive up to the Food Bank and we will direct you to drop off your donation.

We also accept cash, check or gift cards (Weis, Giant, Stauffers). We will use those monetary funds/gift cards to purchase food as needed.

If donating food, please try to donate items "in date" and not past the best buy date. The only thing that expires are milk & baby food, but we prefer to hand out items that are still in the best buy date time period.

Consider organizing a food drive in your community or at your place of work. If you need other drop-off times for a large drop-off, please call/text 717-538-7137 and we will arrange a drop-off time that works.

If you need the Food Bank, we are open to residents with a Mount Joy address. Please bring photo ID showing your address, or photo ID and a current bill showing your address. We are open Wed & Fri from 9 - 11 am and the 1st Thursday of each month from 4 - 5:30 pm.
