At a previous meeting, President Will Keesler welcomed John Walker from the Fishin’ Kid’s Club to talk about their annual Fishin For Kids Derby. The Club operates and maintains the stocking program and pond at Hazel Hurst Park. This program is an incredible way for kids to get involved and learn the sport of fishing. They have kids help care for the fish and stock them prior to the derby. If you missed this VERY popular event, make sure you look for it next spring. This club operates only with support from local orgs and sponsors. Donations can be mailed to:

Mt. Jewett Rotary is proud to help sponsor this event!
Thanks John for stopping by!

At a previous meeting: Vice President Jim Trussell introduced the guest speaker Tiffany Boschert, Executive Director, McKean & Elk County Community Foundation, a tax exempt, non-profit organization. She provided an overview of the Foundation along with specific information regarding scholarships. The Foundation is a PATH partner. Last year scholarship winners who qualified received over a $120,000.00 in matching scholarship grants through PATH.

The Ellucian Foundation PATH Scholarship Program (Progress, Accomplishment, Thriving, Hope) provides grants to higher education institutions to support students facing economic hardship, with over $3.7 million awarded since 2020. Institutions receive $10,000–$25,000 to assist students with tuition, housing, and food.

Thank you Tiffany for sharing knowledge with our club!

It’s time for the Mount Jewett Memorial Library Endowment Fund Match campaign. This year, the Library is celebrating 60 YEARS! Our club is offering to contribute $2,000 to the MJML Endowment Fund if the library is able raise $4,000.
So we are asking you to help continue to grow the Endowment Fund to ensure operational funding for the Library for many years to come.
60 years ago, the people of Mt Jewett came together to raise money to build the current Library after the previous one was destroyed by fire. 60 years later, we are reaching out to the same community to ask for continued support that allows the library to provide new books, programs for both adults and children, access to periodicals, internet resources, printing and fax services, and much more. Donations should be directed to the Mount Jewett Memorial Library.

The Mount Jewett Rotary Club has been the Chartering Organization for Mount Jewett Boy Scout Troop 410 for seventy-eight years. Over the years, in addition to providing funds to pay for the Troop’s annual charter, the Club also provides additional financial support for educational materials, equipment and camping expenses.

Pictured are members and leaders of Troop 410 who took a brief break from serving their famous Fish Fry dinners on Friday night to accept a check in the amount of $3,200.00 from the Mt. Jewett Rotary Club.

At a recent meeting, Rotarian (and St. Matthews Preschool Teacher) Beth Carpenter gave us an update on on the preschool. She shared board updates, upcoming fundraisers, and some of her favorite memories from preparing our local students to succeed in school. Her programming and hands on learning approach helps our local students rise above the rest as they enter the K-12 system. We are so blessed to have this option available locally. Thank you Beth for all you do! Pictured, President Will Keesler presents Beth with a donation for the preschool.
