We have 12 young men headed to UW Eau Claire for Badger Boys State tomorrow. We are so fortunate to have such a supportive community. The Mount Horeb Community Foundation, Rotary, Lions and Optimists Clubs, Mount Horeb Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Mount Horeb American Legion provided funds to send these students to BBS for what is called an experience of a lifetime. I should also note that we could not do this without the generous support of the Badger Boys State Alumni.

We had our Installation of Officers Monday, 8 June. Jeff Anderson did an outstanding job serving as the Post Commander of the Mount Horeb American Legion for the last two years. He thanked the Executive Committee for their hard work supporting him over the last two years.

Thank you to American Legion Post 113 in Mt. Horeb for their incredibly generous donation of $800 to Badger Honor Flight!

Support from organizations like yours helps us continue our mission of taking Veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor and receive the recognition they so richly deserve.

We are deeply grateful for your commitment to our Veterans and for helping make these life-changing trips possible. Thank you for your support of Badger Honor Flight!

Please come out and support this great event tomorrow night.

Please come out and support this great event tomorrow night.

Join the Mount Horeb Area School District community on May 30 at the Mount Horeb High School track as we celebrate America’s semiquincentennial birthday with an evening of community, patriotism, and fun. 🇺🇸

Gates open at 6:00 p.m., and festivities start at 6:30 p.m. In case of weather, activities and the movie will move to the High School auditorium.

The evening will include opening ceremonies, guest speakers, a community walk around the soccer stadium track, patriotic outfit contests, concessions, and a dusk showing of Honor Flight: One Last Mission on the stadium scoreboard.

A suggested $5 donation will support Fisher House Wisconsin and Badger Honor Flight. We hope to see you there as we celebrate together and honor those who have served our country.

Questions? Please reach out to our very own social studies teacher and Wisconsin Army National Guard veteran, Sergeant Marlene Tilsner, at [email protected].

The Community Flag Program is so grateful for the many community members and businesses that support the program, which in turn, supports 5 other local non-profit organizations doing good in our communities (American Legion Post 113, Mt. Horeb 10.0 Gymnastics Club, VFW Post 9511, Mt. Horeb Youth Baseball and Mt. Horeb High School Baseball).
