Citizens Serving the Homeless

Citizens Serving the Homeless We are a group of concerned citizens in Burlington County who are working to develop a comprehensive housing and services program in a single-site.

Our VISION is to develop a community where homeless people can obtain a broad range of services in one location, in a campus-like setting that offers transformational, life-changing hope. Our CHALLENGE is to make the case for the development of such a comprehensive housing and services program providing education, training and empowerment.

Anyone who thinks conservative theology and progressive social and political policies are of recent origin don’t acknowledge history. It is a long-standing Biblical truth!

This is our annual fundraiser for the Bridge of Hope Program . For a more detailed description, please go on our website www.christiancaringcenter.net make sure to read April's newsletter.
I'm excited about this virtual fundraiser because it can involve your whole family & teach young children & grandchildren & everyone in the family. You can have a sleep over at grandma's or your own house, church, etc. You can sleep in the recliner as the children sleep on the floor, you can sleep in your car or put up a tent in your front yard, etc. Whatever you like. We get people to sponsor each sleeper & we raise much needed funds & awareness. This year we will have our Social worker, Samar Rudd on Zoom explaining the prgram & showing a short video of our families currently in the program. This is program is so close to my heart as I have been a single parent & have had single parents sleeping in my living & on the couch & floor. If you can't host a Sleep Out Event, please consider sponsorship of me! Thanks so much for your support!

People of faith need to be more vocal and active in meeting the social and economic needs of our nation. We who have been given so much need to respond with thanks to the Lord and give back to others, not in charity but in justice, sharing the wealth and opportunity we who are white were born with an inherited.

Residents of wealthy neighborhoods are taking extreme measures to block much-needed housing and transportation projects.

This is a good primer on what housing for the homeless could and should look like when you commit yourself to finding and actually working to end homelessness.

City leaders and advocates want to produce more homes to put a dent in the city’s homelessness problem. But confusion about the various types of housing for homeless and low-income residents is common, so we put together this guide to cut through the jargon.

Decent, affordable housing is the foundation of a fair, just and equitable society. How much longer can we continue to allow this great divide of rich and poor to grow wider and deeper without major social crises?

If renters voted at the same rate that homeowners did in 2016, Hillary Clinton would have trounced Donald Trump. So why aren't Democrats all over the housing crisis?

What is happening in Los Angeles will eventually begin to happen all across the USA. We need a national housing policy that will provide for all of our residents!

As Los Angeles landlords renovate units to reap the benefits of a high-priced rental market, renters are being pushed out.
