Happy Sunday family! I hope all of you have and awesome day and an even greater and Spirit-led week.

I recently read Psalm 106 and Numbers 11. Both go over the same story which deal with a craving that the Israelites had. Psalm 106:14 says it like this:

ā€œBut they had a wanton craving in the wilderness, and put God to the test in the desert;ā€ Psalm‬ ‭106:14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

A thought God gave ME this morning:

A WANTON CRAVING

It is always a craving which trips us up. At the very inception of sin into humanity, it was a craving that tripped Eve and Adam up. This craving if not checked, quickly transforms into idolatry. •Craving anything more than we crave God is the definition of idolatry. •Craving is the anthesis of discipline. •Craving is the rule of the kingdom of darkness, ā€œdo what thou wiltā€, or for a more commercially acceptable and marketable version, ā€œfind what makes you happyā€. All of these pointing us towards a sense of self-satisfaction and pleasure seeking. And yet, everyone agrees that instant gratification, like a sugar rush or any other inebriating inhibitor, feels great in that fleeting moment, but as quickly as that feeling fades, we are left with the same realization that Adam and Eve acquired when their eyes were opened, realizing that they were naked. And just like that, we know that we’re still one 180Āŗ turn away from the journey towards the greater things of life.

HAPPY SABBATH!!

A crucial component to wellness is rest and spiritual revitalization. In short, this spiritual revitalization consists of a highly focused reconnection to what matters most.

I LOVE the Sabbath because it offers us that every opportunity. The Sabbath is permission from God to drop everything that matters less so that we can intently commune with Him, unencumbered and uninterrupted.

The thing is, that it’s up to us to accept this offer from God.

Today I’m choosing God’s rest. Will you?

Day 2. L U N C H

One of my hardest struggles when it comes to nutrition has been my addiction to eating out combined with a serious allergy to cooking. šŸ˜‚šŸ’€šŸ˜

I make light of it, but it’s a serious problem. Eating out, especially fast food, brings with it a convenience and instant pleasure factor that can be really attractive in the moment but can be monumentally detrimental to our health. It’s OKAY to eat out! What I’m talking about is when it becomes an every meal, every day type situation. This is TOXIC and not too mention, it’s expensive!!

Some will look at this meal and have all kinds of things to say about it, but for me, it’s a win!

Don’t do it to please others. Don’t try to compete with anyone else either. IMPORTANT: Resist the temptation to compare your journey to that of others.

Just focus on making small steps forward in your journey. Little steps add up over time. Just be honest with yourself and care enough to make a difference. Today it’s your turn to RISE. Will you?

Life’s a journey. We must respect it. We must mind it. We must step into it with faith, and the determination that comes from it. Most importantly, we must live it, one step at a time.
