Hello Coalition Members and Community Partners,

I would like to personally invite you to join me for an open discussion over coffee as we explore ways to better serve the youth and families of Mount Clemens.

The goal of this Coffee Talk is to bring our coalition members and partners together in a relaxed, welcoming environment where we can share ideas, discuss community needs, and explore opportunities to strengthen our impact. We want to find a date and time that works best for the majority of our members so that everyone has an opportunity to participate.

I look forward to sitting down with you, sharing a cup of coffee, and having meaningful conversations about how we can work together to make a positive difference in the lives of our youth and families.

Hello Coalition Members and Partners,

I hope this email finds everyone doing well!

As we approach our annual Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, October 24, we have also been invited to participate in the CARE Trunk-or-Treat on Wednesday, October 21. We are excited about these opportunities to engage with our families and continue making a positive impact in our community.

I am reaching out to ask our coalition members and community partners to consider donating candy to help make both events a success. Every donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated!

Candy donations can be dropped off at the Henry Ford Health Clinic, located inside Mount Clemens High School at Door 21. If you would prefer to arrange a direct drop-off, please contact me to schedule a convenient time.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, continued partnership, and commitment to serving our community. Together, we can help make these events enjoyable and memorable for the children and families we serve.

August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜

An overdose can happen to anyone. Knowing the signs and symptoms, and knowing how to use Narcan (naloxone) can help save a life.

What you should know:

• Opioids include prescription medications such as morphine, codeine, hydrocodone, and oxycodone, as well as illicit opioids such as he**in and illegally produced fentanyl.
• Taking too much of an opioid can cause an overdose.
• Narcan can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose and restore breathing.
• You don't have to be a medical professional to carry or administer Narcan.
• Narcan only works on opioid overdoses, but it won't harm someone if opioids aren't involved. When in doubt, give Narcan.
• Illegally manufactured fentanyl may be present in other drugs without a person knowing it, making naloxone an important tool to have on hand.

You never know when you might encounter someone experiencing an overdose. Being prepared could save a life.

Talking to teens about drugs isn't easy, but it matters. Their brains keep developing into their mid-20s; less exposure now means better growth later. Use is trending down, but peer pressure is still real. Prevention starts with conversation.

Come stop by our table at the Mount Clemens Back-to-School Bash tomorrow, Thursday 8/13 from 10-2! We are giving away bags of household items to the first 50 families!

Each bag to be given to a Mt. Clemens family contains the following items:
• Disinfectant spray
• Bar soap
• Dish sponges
• Liquid dish soap
• Paper towel
• Toilet paper
• Ajax powder cleaner

We hope to see you there!😄

Join us this Thursday at the Back to School Bash!!! Come on out and meet our amazing staff across the district!!!

Our coalition members are hard at work preparing 50 bags of household supplies to give away at Mt. Clemens Schools' Back-to-School Bash, this Thursday 8/13 from 10-2!

Each bag to be given to a Mt. Clemens family contains the following items:

• Liquid dish soap
• Paper towel
• Toilet paper
• Ajax powder cleaner

It means so much that we are able to provide these items to our local families, and this would not have been possible without the support of donations. We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated!
