We just received the largest donation from an individual in our history. An anonymous donor has generously invested $100,000 in the Macomb Foster Closet’s building and programs to provide children affected by foster care everything they need to thrive and feel cared for from birth until age 25 ❤️ Helping Kids Begins Here!

The donor indicated they had seen our work in action and believed in us to provide the most impactful direct services that these youth need. This amazing donation will fund the remainder of our critical interior facility renovations and provide for meeting the needs of emergency placements. Thank you for your truly transformational gift!

Today we helped 23 year old Alee move into her first apartment in Clinton Township. She shopped at the Macomb Foster Closet’s store for clothes, hygiene, shoes, coat, and more. Then we drove out some additional home items she needed including a microwave, vacuum, tv, lamp, end table, wi-fi speaker, dishes, cups, utensils, cooking knives, pots and pans, mixing bowls, plastic containers, coffee maker, box fan, laundry basket, shower curtain, bath mat, towels, cleaning supplies, paper products, and so much more.

Alee participates in DHHS’s MYOI program for older former foster youth, which goes to age 25. We are proud to support all the young adults who learn life skills and get caseworker and financial support from this essential state program to help kids learn how to live independently and transition into adulthood as they age out of foster care.

Our goal is to give these young folks the tools they need for life and set them up for success so they overcome the odds of foster care, with 47% going homeless within 2 years of graduating. We are there for these kids for the whole journey through foster care.

We need your help to do this work. Please donate today. Learn more at MacombFosterCloset.org or text us at 586-422-0200….Helping Kids Begins Here 💙
