🎉 Our 50/50 Raffle raised $9,100 — and our winner gave some of it right back.

Congratulations to Nicole Posner, winner of the MCREST Annual Fundraiser 50/50 Raffle! Nicole took home $4,550— and then turned around and donated $1,000 of her winnings back to MCREST.

That is the spirit of this community right there.

Thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket and made this possible. And thank you, Nicole — your generosity means the world to us.

Very exciting news. We’ve had a great partnership for 23 years. What a great surprise.

🎉 MCREST RECEIVES $75,000 AWARD

Yesterday, MCREST was honored to join nearly 200 Christian Financial Credit Union employees at their Sterling Heights headquarters for a very special moment — a $75,000 check presentation as part of their annual Day of Giving.

Here’s how they made it happen: Christian Financial Credit Union secured $60,000 through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis and added $15,000 of their own.

Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel and State Representative Denise Mentzer were both on hand for the presentation — a reminder that the fight against homelessness in our county has support at every level of our community.

This kind of investment is what makes the work possible. Our doors stay open, our case managers stay on, and our guests have a path forward.

Thank you. From the bottom of our hearts. ❤️

We need more people like him!

Toronto carpenter Khaleel Seivwright began building insulated mini shelters to help people experiencing homelessness make it through the winter.

Each compact shelter was designed to retain body heat and offered more protection from the elements than a tent, with Seivwright providing them free of charge.

Sadly, we're seeing more children without a place to live compared to last year.
