Monday Evening's Overdose Awareness Event hosted by Birches Foundation.
Attendees shared an evening of remembrance and support from one another, over a delicious dinner provided by Chatham Nursing and Rehab. The event ended with a candlelight reading of the names of community members lost to overdose in Surry and Stokes Counties.
Many All-Stars members, and others, from various organizations were on hand sharing information, overdose prevention materials and resources, including Insight Human Services Prevention - Surry County Elkin Police DepartmentNew Hope New Beginning Surry County Emergency ServicesTriad Family & Children's Services, LlcCasey's House Ministries Breaking Chains, Building Bridges Community ForumStokes County EMSStokes County Community ParamedicsStokes County Opioid Prevention Effort-SCOPE Program

Monday's Overdose Awareness event at Dobson Square Park.
It was a hot afternoon, but a great time making connections and discussing local issues as All-Stars and friends! Thanks to All-Star Kaitlyn from ICGH for organizing, Rhiannon for volunteering her time to set up info from multiple sources (Breaking Chains, Building Bridges Community Forum), and Krystal from AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina for traveling so far to join us.
