SERVANT-LEADERSHIP AWARD

Hannah Peterson - Mount Airy Christian Academy (Mount Airy, MD)

"Hannah is deserving of the NCSAA Servant-Leadership Award for the Christlike leadership and servant-hearted example she consistently displays on and off the field. A captain for the past two seasons, she has been a steady leader whose presence elevates her teammates mentally, physically, and spiritually. She leads not only through her performance as a top player, but through the way she encourages, supports, and builds up those around her. Her testimony following her injury that kept her off the field her sophomore year was a powerful example of her faith and perseverance, inspiring both her coaches and teammates as she shared how God gave her strength during one of the darkest moments of her life. Her love for the game and gratitude for the opportunity to play are evident every time she steps onto the field, always seeking to honor God through her attitude and effort. Beyond competition, she consistently serves her team in meaningful ways, always willing to take equipment to and from the field and to help with anything else that is needed. Her willingness to serve in both big and small ways reflects the heart of a true servant leader. Respected and loved by her teammates, she models humility, character, and leadership that point others toward Christ."

The NCSAA Servant-Leadership Award is presented to senior athletes from our member schools who exemplified leadership by serving their teammates and opponents, displaying Christlike character in their competition, and interacting with others with a deep commitment to building them up. Thank you for leading and serving, Hannah, and for being dedicated to demonstrating Christ's sacrificial love.

Our Varsity Girls Soccer Team erased a 2 goal deficit with 3 unanswered goals of their own to win the first MCST State Championship for Girls Soccer.

They cap off their season with a perfect record, marking their second consecutive undefeated season and extending their overall record to 33-0 since 2025.

Our MS Baseball team enjoyed a night at Oriole Park at Camden Yards to celebrate their season! The boys are looking forward to Monday’s MIAC Championship game! GO LIONS!

Last night our MS and Varsity Track and Field teams met for team devotions ahead of today’s East Coast Christian School Track & Field Championship held in Bangor, PA. We are looking forward to hearing how our teams perform today.

Last Day of Classes for Our Soccer Seniors 💙🩵🤍

Today marks the final day of classes for these incredible seniors! These moments from Senior Night a few weeks ago captured just a small piece of the impact they’ve had on our soccer program, school, and community.

Thank you for your leadership, dedication, and the memories you’ve given us over the years. We are so proud of the student-athletes and young women you’ve become.

Today we look back at our 25–26 Winter Varsity Girls Basketball Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week recipients. Congratulations ladies!

🏀 Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week – 12/01
Eden Shinabery
Eden led the team with defensive intensity during the NL Tournament. She recorded 7 steals in each game, disrupting opponents all week long. In the championship game, Eden added 11 points and played a key role in MACA’s thrilling last-minute, come-from-behind victory to secure the tournament title.

🏀 Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week – 12/08
Caroline Apolenis
Caroline made an impact in a matchup against Covenant Life, finishing with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. She carried that momentum into the Tip-Off Tourney, where she continued to be a key contributor. Against TCA, Caroline posted 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks, helping lead the Lady Lions to a third-place finish.

🏀 Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week – 1/05
Avery Witter
Avery had a dominant week for the Lady Lions, beginning with a 22-point performance in a 44–27 win over MSD, while also adding 5 rebounds and 5 assists. She followed that up with an incredible performance on Homecoming Night against GGCA, recording her first triple-double of the season with 31 points, 11 boards, and 12 steals to lead MACA to another big victory.

🏀 Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week – 2/03
Eden Shinabery
Eden led the Lady Lions in a strong road victory over GGCA, as MACA defeated the Eagles 43–27. She paced the team with 16 points, 3 rebounds and 5 steals.

🏀 Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week – 2/16
Caroline Apolenis
Caroline led MACA with 19 points in a 56–31 semifinal win over MSD to open the MIAC playoffs. She made a season-high six 3-pointers and added 7 rebounds. In the MIAC Final against Redeemer. Caroline once again led the team with 19 points in a hard-fought effort.

🏀Week of 2/23 – Avery Witter
Avery made history in the MCST DI Championship, scoring a record-breaking 37 points to lead the Lady Lions to their first-ever D1 MCST title. Her dominant performance earned her Tournament MVP honors and capped off an unforgettable championship run for MACA.

The Madness Begins! 🏀

Join us tomorrow night from 6:00–7:30 PM in the MACA Gym as we kick off the 2025–26 MACA Basketball season! This event is for all ages and promises an exciting night of fun, competition, and Lion pride!

The evening will start with the introduction of our Varsity Boys and Girls teams, followed by fan-favorite events like Knockout, Slam Dunk Contests, and more! 🎯🏆 See the school wide email to sign up for a chance to win prizes, earn bragging rights, and have a great time with the MACA community.

The night will include our annual Varsity Girls and Boys Blue/White Scrimmages, giving fans a first look at this year’s squads in action. Concessions will be available, so bring the whole family and come ready to cheer — the Madness begins at MACA!
