Today we look back at our 25–26 Winter Varsity Girls Basketball Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week recipients. Congratulations ladies!
🏀 Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week – 12/01
Eden Shinabery
Eden led the team with defensive intensity during the NL Tournament. She recorded 7 steals in each game, disrupting opponents all week long. In the championship game, Eden added 11 points and played a key role in MACA’s thrilling last-minute, come-from-behind victory to secure the tournament title.
🏀 Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week – 12/08
Caroline Apolenis
Caroline made an impact in a matchup against Covenant Life, finishing with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. She carried that momentum into the Tip-Off Tourney, where she continued to be a key contributor. Against TCA, Caroline posted 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks, helping lead the Lady Lions to a third-place finish.
🏀 Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week – 1/05
Avery Witter
Avery had a dominant week for the Lady Lions, beginning with a 22-point performance in a 44–27 win over MSD, while also adding 5 rebounds and 5 assists. She followed that up with an incredible performance on Homecoming Night against GGCA, recording her first triple-double of the season with 31 points, 11 boards, and 12 steals to lead MACA to another big victory.
🏀 Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week – 2/03
Eden Shinabery
Eden led the Lady Lions in a strong road victory over GGCA, as MACA defeated the Eagles 43–27. She paced the team with 16 points, 3 rebounds and 5 steals.
🏀 Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week – 2/16
Caroline Apolenis
Caroline led MACA with 19 points in a 56–31 semifinal win over MSD to open the MIAC playoffs. She made a season-high six 3-pointers and added 7 rebounds. In the MIAC Final against Redeemer. Caroline once again led the team with 19 points in a hard-fought effort.
🏀Week of 2/23 – Avery Witter
Avery made history in the MCST DI Championship, scoring a record-breaking 37 points to lead the Lady Lions to their first-ever D1 MCST title. Her dominant performance earned her Tournament MVP honors and capped off an unforgettable championship run for MACA.
