What a night!
Savian & Brixan were supposed to get a shipment of TPN on Friday, it didn’t come. I called pharmacy yesterday & asked them if it was coming, they said due to the weather they had to change how it was shipped and it would hopefully be here by 8pm.
The boys get connected to TPN by 5, so we had to bust out the emergency bags (these are basically sugar water to keep them hydrated & keep their sugars at normal range). This was a first for us. We were really hopeful the shipment would arrive by 8pm, but it did not.
In the night we had to switch out Savian’s emergency bag twice & Brixan’s once because they do not hold as much TPN as the boys normal bags do.
With all this said, I am grateful for my parents helping me navigate through this & helping me in the night. Also very grateful that, although this is no where near the boys normal TPN, they are acting like their normal selves this morning.
The shipment did show up this morning so we no longer need to stress about TPN coming, since we are now out of emergency bags.
