This Halloween, the students of the Westonka High School National Honor Society are turning tick-or-treating into a frightfully good way to fight hunger! Students will be collecting canned goods, personal care and monetary donations to help stock our food shelf and support neighbors in need.

We think its a boo-tiful way to make a difference! 👻

A few weeks ago, the Good Shepherd Women's Ministry hosted their annual Women's Bruch to support WeCAN. It was a morning filled with delicious food, friendship and encouragement. Thanks to their giving spirit, we received a check for $9,300, which will be matched by a generous local family!

Even though it doesn't feel like it outside, winter is on its way!

Our yearly winter coat drive is officially underway - we are collecting new and gently used coats, boats and winter gear (hats, gloves, scarves). Drop off at WeCAN or any of our other many drop off locations: Hilltop, Shirley Hills, Westonka Middle School, Mount Calvary in Excelsior, Good Shepherd in Navarre, Lafayette Club, Lyndale Lutheran Church in Independence, St John's Lutheran Church of Mound, MN, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Community, St. Martins by the Lake Church, St. Boniface Catholic Church, Mound Evangelical Free Church, Bethel of Mound, 21st Century Bank in Loretto, MidCountry Bank, The Bank of Maple Plain, First Presbyterian Church of Maple Plain, Artessa Living in Mound, or Edina Realty Wayzata.

A couple weeks ago, we got a delivery so big it almost didn't fit through the door!

Thank you to the Mount Calvary Foundation for their generous grant that allowed us to purchase this refrigerator/ freezer combo. It is already getting good use - filled with perishable, nutritional food to be given out to clients.

We also have to recognize the amazing delivery driver from R+L Carriers who spent his valuable time to get it in the building - we could not have done it without him and his expertise!

Come see the new fridge this Thursday at our open house!

Throwback Thursday! We have been doing lots of cleaning around WeCAN and we have uncovered lots of interesting stuff! Including our original Articles of Incorporation from the state of Minnesota, dated June 14, 1982. Thats over 44 years of helping the community!

HUGE THANK YOU to RBC Wayzata for stocking our shelves!!!

Yesterday, their team dropped of three car loads of items that they collected for us, including 503 personal care items and 1,332 pounds of food. 🏆They are amazing!
