💙 Working Together for Our Children! 💙

Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting in Forsyth with a room full of dedicated individuals from DFCS, Children’s Advocacy Centers, state representatives, law enforcement, prosecutors, and child advocates—all coming together with one common goal: to strengthen and enhance our child abuse and neglect protocol.

Over the past two weeks, we have also been working hard to prepare our local law enforcement officers and school officials for the new school year, making sure they have the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to keep our children safe.

It takes all of us working together to protect children, and I am so proud to be part of a community that believes our children are a priority! ❤️

Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can protect our most vulnerable. 🫶🏻

As a new school year begins, let’s all do our part to help keep our students safe.

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, school staff member, or community member, school safety is everyone’s responsibility. Take time to talk with your children about staying aware of their surroundings, speaking up if something doesn’t feel right, and showing kindness and respect to others.

Let’s also remember to slow down in school zones, watch for children at bus stops and crosswalks, and be patient during the busy morning and afternoon traffic.

Wishing every student, teacher, and school employee a safe, successful, and exciting school year. Here’s to learning, growing, and making this the best year yet!

To everyone who serves children and families – therapist, counselors, teachers, law-enforcement, officers, nonprofit, leader, medical staff, social workers, and other helping professionals – thank you for the important work you do each day.

Because families often rely on us for guidance during some of the most difficult times in their lives, it’s essential that we provide accurate information regarding child abuse and domestic violence laws. When we’re uncertain, taking the time to verify the law or consult with someone who specializes in that area can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Our community is fortunate to have dedicated professionals who are willing to collaborate and support one another. By working together and sharing accurate up-to-date information we can help ensure families receive the guidance, protection, and resources they need to make informed decisions.

Together, we can strengthen our community by supporting one another and, most importantly, by serving families with accuracy, compassion, and integrity.

It’s okay to say I’m not sure, let me find out for you.
