Attention all Veteran artists, actors, dancers, musicians and writers! It’s that time of year again!

Veterans, here is your opportunity to share your creative talents with us!

NF/SGVHS will begin collecting submissions for the 2025 NF/SG VHS Creative Arts Festival. All entries must be received by Friday, July 31st, 2026. For more information please visit the NF/SG Creative Arts Therapy website https://www.va.gov/north-florida-health-care/programs/creative-arts-therapies/ local event will take place in the Malcom Randall VAMC Auditorium August 24th-28th, 2026. The art and writing exhibit will be open to the public August 24th-28th from 0900-1500. Veteran led workshops will occur Monday through Friday from 1000-1200 and live showcases will occur Monday through Friday from 1300-1500.

🍩 Happy National Donut Day! 🍩

Today, we're celebrating the remarkable women of the American Red Cross Supplemental Recreation Activities Overseas (SRAO) program—better known as the beloved "Donut Dollies."

While the nickname stuck, most Donut Dollies—especially those who served in Vietnam—never actually saw or served donuts! Instead, these dedicated American Red Cross volunteers traveled by jeep, plane, and helicopter to military bases, firebases, hospitals, and remote outposts, bringing morale-boosting recreation programs, conversation, and a welcome connection to home for servicemembers serving far from their families.

The Donut Dollies served with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those who served our Nation.

So while you're enjoying a donut today, take a moment to remember the women behind the nickname—the Donut Dollies! Their legacy of care, connection, and support continues to inspire.

Thank you to all the American Red Cross Donut Dollies who served. We are honored to preserve and share your stories at the Military Women's Memorial.
