From our Trail Master, Eric Erving:

Today, Monday, we formally put up the gates. A sad day but it is 60° at the moment and will about 65° tomorrow. Our trails just won't survive. In the coming weeks, we will put the groomers to bed and take down the signs once we know that we are closed for the season.

The warm up is here, the trails had held up well, but things are getting thin. Due to the forecast and out of an abundance of caution for our land owners properties we are going to close the trails in Moultonborough tonight. We ask that if you do venture out on the trails today that you be cautious, avoid spinning your tracks and watch out for thin spots and open water bars. We will be evaluating conditions should the expected cool down come in a week or so, if we get enough snow we may partially reopen, keep checking back here. Otherwise, please respect our landowners and stay off the trails after tonight.

Please plan on attending our season end meeting on April 25th, at the The Taphouse in Center Harbor. There will be free pizza, a cash bar, lots of socializing with fellow club members plus a short business meeting with officer elections.

Thank you for your continued support!!

********** Be sure to read to the end of this post *********

Good morning everyone, what a season we have had, the best snow in years, our grooming operation had very few mechanical issues and our groomers hit the trails hard and often. All contributing to what has been a great season.

Our Trail Master, Eric Erving, has been checking out our trails this morning after we received about 3 inches of snow last night, and conditions are actually pretty good. So he has decided to keep the trails open, into this weekend, for as long as possible. Officially, we would say our trails are in moderate condition, with quite a few areas in good shape.

Please keep in mind that some of our trails lead to water crossings. It is important to understand that ice is not part of our trails, and that we do not evaluate if it is safe to cross. That is up to each individual to determine before venturing onto the ice. Conditions can and do change rapidly, exercise an abundance of caution.

So what does this all mean? Please be careful on the trails, you may run into thin spots, open water bars and maybe some bare spots. Today is projected to be overcast with highs just above freezing and will be the coldest day for the next week or two, so the writing for this season is on the wall.

From the weather that is forecast this weekend, we expect to be able to stay open until at least Saturday evening. We will re-evaluate at that time. If conditions have deteriorated, we will close the trails. Unfortunately, with the warm conditions forecast for the next 8 days or so, we don't have high hopes for the rest of March, but time will tell.

Please check here and/or our sign next to Haffner's, for current info on trail status.

***************End of Season Meeting******************

Please save the date, on Saturday evening, April 25th, we will be having our season end meeting at the The Taphouse, in Center Harbor. There will be free pizza and a cash bar. It will be a great time to socialize with fellow members and board members. We will have a short business meeting and hold club elections. Please come and support our club!!!

Most of the trails were groomed last night, conditions are good, our base is holding up well. Today will be warming up, so we will evaluate and groom again if conditions and temperatures allow. It’s been one of better seasons in recent history, so get out and enjoy while you can. Ride safe and enjoy!!!!

Thanks everyone for the kudos on our trails, it is greatly appreciated!!!

It's a very special milestone day today for someone who absolutely is the hardest worker in the club. He knows every trail by heart, he knows every volunteer personally, he's been heading up all the improvement projects for quite a while, he handles maintenance projects. Pretty much everything trails related, he oversees. He gets things done; without him the club would have a giant void to fill.

So, join us in wishing our Trail Master, Eric Erving, a Happy Birthday!!!!!!!

Show him some love in the comments and make sure to stop him and thank him for his hard work if you see him around town!!!!!

Best conditions in recent memory. Thank the volunteers !!!!

All trails have been groomed tonight except for the Cup and Crumb / Harrington trail. The trails are in good condition, the last snow storm really help us out. More snow would be even better.

Below are some pictures and a video from the trails near Balmoral and Suissevale. Featured in the video is our groomer in training Tom, driving our 97 Tucker. Enjoy the trails.

Groomers were out in full force yesterday, all trails have been groomed, we are seeing heavy use but are in good shape. Use caution, there are some thin spots, as always you can help by not ripping through corners or spinning your tracks. Please stay on marked trails, keep our landowners happy. Keep those snow dances going, we need more!!

The groomers were out overnight and this AM.

We need to do better than this. This is the tree farm on the Neck Road. Drove over the stakes, 2 trees and dragged the rope down the trail.

Trails are the best in years, get out there and ride everyone!!

Be safe and take it easy on the corners and we may be able to ride this for a while!!

Pray for more snow next week we will need it no doubt.

Remember to thank the volunteers who get the trails ready and keep them in such good shape throughout the year, and be courteous of the landowners property. Without them none of this is possible.
