Last night, the Moss Point-Jackson County NAACP held an impactful meeting focused on leadership, justice, and our community’s concerns. Officer nominations were brought to the floor, and we reaffirmed our continued support for Ben Crump and the National NAACP’s efforts in the Nolan Wells case. We also discussed next month’s State Conference at the Golden Nugget in Biloxi.

We remain committed to hearing your concerns, keeping our community informed, and advocating for justice and accountability. Let Us Keep Asking, What Happened To Nolan Wells?

WHAT HAPPENED TO NOLAN? It’s been 27 days since Nolan’s body was found. The accounts of those who were with him don’t add up. The immediate proclamation from Sheriff Ledbetter that ‘no foul play is suspected’ under suspicious circumstances was shocking. The world has heard the official Sea Tow call audio, seen the independent autopsy report and knows that the state’s official autopsy is now complete.

Transparency and accountability is necessary for public trust. MS Gulf Coast residents will gather again at Jackson County Courthouse on Tuesday, August 4 from 4-6 pm in solidarity with Nolan’s parents and their demands for truth, transparency and equal justice.
