Thank you to all Tweens and volunteers who painted on the pumpkins. They will be given out this week to hospice patients in the surrounding Assisted Living facilities and Nursing facilities. The patients are always so happy to receive a gift, especially a home made one. Please know that your caring hearts will bless many.

Special thanks to Ms. Pat who picked up the pumpkins and got them delivered to you!

Reading the Bible this morning and felt compelled to share this devotional reading: Isaiah 6:1-12 My prayer is that it touches your heart and moves us all to action! Praise God in all things.

SEND ME

What a majestic and breathtaking view the prophet Isaiah has as the sixth chapter opens. He was entranced by the awe-inspiring glimpse of the eternal God on his throne, with the seraphs flying about and calling to each other:

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory (Isaiah 6:3).

Isaiah was never the same after he gazed on the triune God and heard the glorious sounds of heaven. His response was, "Woe to me! . . . I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips" (Isaiah 6:5). Here we see a man distraught before the king of heaven. Isaiah saw himself as he was -- a sinner. His reaction was much like our response when we come face to face with God as revealed in Jesus Christ. Each of us cries out for cleansing.

After Isaiah received the cleansing, he heard the voice of the Lord speak those challenging and gripping words, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" (Isaiah 6:8). The prophet immediately responded, "Here am I. Send me!"

Just like Isaiah, we are living in a world full of people who not only have unclean lips but whose lives are being destroyed by immorality and drugs. The Lord wants us to serve him by reaching others. Perhaps he may send you to witness to a loved one, to a neighbor, or even to a country where many have not heard of Jesus and his love.

I remember clearly that after I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I had a great desire to tell others what Jesus had just done in my life. Little did I realize that one day that desire would lead me to ministry as a pastor's wife and to involvement in a gospel radio broadcasting station in Monrovia, Liberia.

Perhaps the Lord will send you to witness of your faith to someone who needs to hear of Jesus' love. Will you respond as Isaiah did? "Here am I. Send me!"
