We had a great time at the HOLA International Food Festival this weekend! 💙

We loved connecting with so many kids and families while sharing body safety information, signs of child abuse, and mental health resources, including toys and journals.

We were excited to connect with around 400 people from Hamblen County and surrounding areas! Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make this such a great event! We’re grateful for every opportunity to connect with our community and help keep kids safe. 💚

As children head back to school, some of the most important conversations about safety happen before they ever step into the classroom.

Talking with your child about trusted adults, healthy boundaries, digital safety, and speaking up can help them feel more confident knowing what to do when something doesn't feel right.

We’re excited to share the new signage outside our building, along with a pop of color added inside! 💙

Our new logo is now proudly displayed on the front of our building and on a wall inside our center. We’re excited for this fresh look to help make our center more visible and welcoming to the children and families we serve. 💚

It was such a great opportunity to connect with so many children and families in our community. We were able to hand out anxiety stones, journals, and helpful information for parents as students head back to school. 💙

MYTH VS. FACT: Child Abuse Awareness

❌ MYTH: It's easy to identify a child who is experiencing abuse or neglect.
✅ FACT: Child abuse is not always visible. Many children show no obvious signs, and some may appear happy, successful, or well-adjusted. Because of this, abuse can go unnoticed by caring parents, teachers, coaches, and other trusted adults.

Learning the possible warning signs, listening to children, and taking concerns seriously can make a difference. If something doesn't seem right, trust your instincts and report your concerns. Protecting children is a shared community responsibility. 💚💙

MYTH VS. FACT: Child Sexual Abuse

❌ MYTH: Child sexual abuse always involves physical force.
✅ FACT: Many children are abused without physical force. Offenders often use manipulation, grooming, threats, secrecy, or abuse of trust instead of violence. Abuse can include exposing a child to sexual content, encouraging sexual acts, watching them undress, or other inappropriate behaviors disguised as affection or "games."

It's important to understand that a child's body may respond physically to abuse. An involuntary physical response does not mean the child wanted or consented to the abuse. These automatic responses never make the child responsible for the abuse.

Understanding the realities of child sexual abuse helps us better support survivors and recognize abuse when it happens.
