The Moses Lake Fire Department had a great time visiting second graders at Midway Elementary! Students learned how to create a home fire escape plan, the importance of working smoke alarms, and practiced the “Get Low and Go” technique to stay safe during a fire.

They also explored a fire engine and ambulance, got a close-up look at firefighters in full gear, and asked lots of great questions.

These visits help teach lifesaving fire safety skills while building positive connections with the crews who serve our community. We love spending time with our local students!

Members from your Moses Lake Firefighters Technical Rescue Team will be performing a live demonstration at the Moses Lake Air Show!

Come watch as our highly trained firefighters showcase specialized rescue techniques, equipment, and skills used during real-world emergency incidents. This exciting demonstration highlights the dedication, teamwork, and training that help keep our community safe.

Bring your family, enjoy the air show, and be sure to stop by and cheer on your local firefighters as they demonstrate the capabilities of our Technical Rescue Team.

This week members of the Moses Lake Fire Department conducted Rope Tech & Operations Training. Members practiced vertical rescue training, practiced controlled descents and positioning on a large structure. This type of hands-on training helps ensure our firefighters are prepared for real-world situations where access isn’t always easy and safety is critical.

From harness work to rope control and situational awareness, every detail matters when operating at elevation. These skills allow us to better serve our community in technical rescue scenarios and low/high-angle incidents.

We’re proud of the continued dedication our team shows to staying sharp, staying safe, and being ready when it matters most.
