Congratulations, Michael, on your new apartment! 🎉

Today marks a huge milestone in Michael's journey.

For more than three years, Michael lived in a broken-down vehicle behind Baskin-Robbins. Four months ago, the Columbia Basin Resource Center (CBRC) met Michael and began working alongside him to secure permanent housing.

When the vehicle was removed during construction activities in the area, Michael was placed in a local motel to provide a safe place to stay while CBRC worked through the many steps required to obtain stable housing.

Along the way, there were several challenges to overcome. CBRC worked with the Department of Licensing to help Michael obtain a valid Washington State ID, allowing him to reconnect with critical services through Washington State DSHS and Social Security Administration. After many trips to the Social Security office in Wenatchee, Michael was finally able to restore his Social Security benefits.

Today, all that hard work has paid off.

Michael now has a place to call home.

This success would not have been possible without the incredible support of Cody Davis, the apartment owner, and Veronica at the Housing Authority of Grant County, whose dedication and assistance helped make this housing placement a reality. We would also like to thank the staff at the Wenatchee Social Security Office and the Washington Department of Licensing in Moses Lake for their help throughout the process.

Stories like Michael's remind us that homelessness is often not a choice. Sometimes people simply need support, advocacy, and a community willing to stand beside them as they navigate a path forward.

Please join us in congratulating Michael on this exciting new chapter! ❤️

Thomas Sowell said it well,
“It is so easy to be wrong and to persist in being wrong when the costs of being wrong are paid by others.”

This is exactly why our model at CBRC is different from the Housing First approach. Housing First believes people should be placed into housing with no expectations, no accountability, and no treatment pathway, and when that model fails, the costs are paid by the people still trapped in addiction, not by the policymakers who designed it.

Our model is built on what actually works:

1. Relationship
2. Treatment
3. Accountability
4. Then housing when the person is ready

Readiness doesn’t magically appear. It grows when someone shows up, listens, and walks with a person long enough for hope to take root. That’s the work we’re committed to - and it’s the work that changes lives! ❤️

Huge congratulations to Leigh on her new construction job!🎉

We’ve loved getting to know her these past few months, and seeing her step into this new chapter has been incredible. A hard hat, safety vest, and new boots were just the tools, she brought the grit and determination!

Your journey is a testimony to God’s grace, Leigh. He lifts us up, restores us, and sets our feet on solid ground. This job is part of that beautiful journey, and we’re honored to walk beside you.

Our team at Columbia Basin Resource Center believes the community deserves clarity, honesty, and collaboration, not division. When misinformation is spread, it doesn’t just hurt us; it hurts the people fighting for their recovery every single day.

This Source ONE News article lays out the facts clearly. We stand by our work, our numbers, and our commitment to doing things the right way. We follow standard processes, we deliver real services, and we welcome dialogue rooted in verified data, not baseless claims.

Recovery in the Columbia Basin works when people work together. That’s the message we’ll continue to stand behind.

Proud of the work our team at Columbia Basin Resource Center is doing here in Moses Lake. Source ONE News published a detailed look at how our outreach and transportation program actually works, it's connecting people to treatment, housing, court support, and long‑term recovery, not “shipping” anyone out of town.

The numbers we shared at the Moses Lake City Council Meeting this evening speak for themselves, but the real story are the lives being changed every day.

Grateful for our community partners, city leadership, and everyone who believes in this mission. Hope and recovery are happening right here!

We’re incredibly grateful to McFadden Family Motors for helping us take another big step forward in serving our community. We recently purchased a vehicle from them to support transportation for individuals on their recovery journey, and they went above and beyond by creating this powerful video highlighting the work we do at the Columbia Basin Resource Center.

Partnerships like this remind us that recovery is a community effort. When local businesses step up, it strengthens the safety net for those who are fighting to rebuild their lives.

Thank you McFadden Family Motors , for using your platform to lift up this mission and for believing in the people we serve.

If you know someone who needs support, please watch this video and share it. The help is real, and hope is closer than many think. 🙏

Sending a big congratulations to James Denton on landing his new job at Genie Industries! We were happy to support him with a new pair of steel‑toe boots. Sometimes a simple pair of boots or a set of work clothes is all it takes for CBRC to play a small part in someone’s journey. This is a huge moment for you, James - you’ve earned it!

Grateful for an evening with V Ginny Burton and Betty Krenz. Ginny shared her heart and her mission, walking across Washington to help 40 people access OUT Impact Coalition’s self‑sufficiency reentry program inside our State’s prisons. Her courage, her story, and her commitment to lifting others up are remarkable. Ginny is also the author of, "The Gabriel Plan", her amazing story of redemption and purpose, available on Amazon.
Honored to stand with women who are changing lives!
