Appaloosa Youth Association Join the AYA to compete in shows, contests and so many other great activities! The AYA was the first youth organization of its kind.

The Appaloosa Horse Club breed registry promoted the AYA, and it has now grown to include youth members from nearly every state and Canadian province, as well as from countries around the world. Many of the youth in the AYA choose to compete in ApHC-approved shows for national points and awards while others simply enjoy trail riding for fun. AYA members can enter fun contests, compete for educatio

nal scholarships and achievement awards, or even run for the AYA Board of Directors! Whether you own a horse or not, the AYA offers many activities and fun things to do.

Calling all high school seniors! 📣 We want to honor you in our spring and summer issues of the Appaloosa Journal.

This is the time to place an ad filled with your best show photos or your senior photos with your horses and be part of our Appaloosa Journal! You’ll forever have a copy of the official printed magazine with your horse pics highlighted!

Choose a full-page ad for $650, a half page ad for $350, or a quarter page for $200.

Need design help? We can help you create it when you send high res, photographer-released photos (for a nominal fee) or design your own. Print dimensions available at https://www.appaloosa.com/appaloosa-journal

The Appaloosa Youth Association proudly offers its Art & Photo Contest to its youth membership annually, from April 1st to August 31st. After the contest, our members are invited to judge photo entries on our AYA page, while the ApHC Staff judges art entries in-house. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three individuals in each age group. Our 2025 contest featured beautiful artwork and lovely photography from 22 contestants; some of this work is displayed in the upcoming Spring ApHC Journal.
