Vandal Volleyball finally back at home tonight!!! After a phenomenal out of conference record, they open Big Sky play tonight at Memorial Gym, 6pm. Get out and support these Vandals!!!

The sight of Idaho volleyball back near the top of the standings in the Big Sky Conference is a most welcome sight for Vandal fans as league play gets underway this week.

The Vandals (9-3) return home on a five-match win streak after recording a perfect 3-0 weekend in New Orleans to close out non-conference action.

The Vandals host Idaho State on Thursday and Weber State on Saturday.

Idaho Athletics has scheduled promotions for the first home matches of the season.

Thursday is the annual "Blackout the Bengals" night, inviting fans to wear black. Free Vandal Koozies will be available while supplies last.

Saturday’s match will be followed by a 2026 season poster signing event with the team.

NOTEBOOK:

• The 2026 Big Sky Volleyball Championship, hosted by Northern Arizona, will be held in Flagstaff, Arizona on Nov. 23-25.

• The top-eight teams in the standings at the end of conference play with qualify for the Big Sky championship.

• Northern Colorado was named preseason favorites by the league's head coaches after winning the Big Sky tournament a season ago.

Vandal Soccer continues to roll!!!

Goals from Payton Oelkers and Kalina Barbosa lifted Idaho soccer to a 2-0 road win over UC-Davis on Sunday at Aggie Soccer Field.

Once again, the potent Vandal offense peppered the opposition, this time firing off 13 shots, nine in the second half.

Oelkers struck a right‑foot finish in the opening half, set up by Alyssa Hamilton’s pass.

Idaho registered four shots (three on target) and two corners in the first half, while UC-Davis managed two shots, both on target.

Barbosa’s goal came in the second half, to the bottom center of goal off her right foot.

Idaho had two corners in the second half, as well.

Idaho keeper Paula Flores picked another clean sheet with four saves, two in each half.

The Vandals (6-2-1) return to Moscow for their next three matches, hosting Gonzaga on Sept. 25, Weber State on Oct. 1, and Idaho State on Oct. 4.

• Idaho men’s tennis is one of eight teams competing at the 2026 ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains this weekend at the Air Force Academy Outdoor Intercollegiate Tennis Courts in Colorado Springs.

• The tenth anniversary of Idaho’s win in the 2016 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will be recognized at Saturday’s Idaho-Abilene Christian game at the P1FCU Kibbie Dome. Idaho defeated Colorado State in Boise, 61-50. And: it was cold.

• Idaho women's basketball has announced the addition of three former head coaches to the staff. Brianna Chambers, Skyler Young and Erin O'Bryan join as assistant coaches, and the new graduate assistant is Natalie Fraley.

• Koen Makaula and Sarah Sullivan of Idaho volleyball earned all-tournament honors for their play at The Joust in California last week. The Vandals (6-3) play at the New Orleans Invitational starting Sept. 17.

• Vandal cross country will compete at the Montana Invite in Missoula on Sept. 18. The meet will be held at the University of Montana Golf Course.

• The Idaho women's golf team opened its fall season at the Wolverine Invitational, hosted this week by Utah Valley at Talons Cove Golf Course. The team plays in Spokane on Sept. 21-22. (Idaho Athletics photo)
