🚑 Happy National EMS Week! 🚑

This week, we celebrate the dedication, skill, and compassion of our EMS professionals who serve on the front lines of prehospital medicine and patient care.

A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteer Paramedics, EMTs, Firefighters, EMS Drivers and the City of Moscow Fire Department Career Staff for your unwavering service to our community.

Together, our team responds to over 3,000 calls each year in the City of Moscow and proudly supports our partners across Latah County EMS.

👏 Your commitment makes a difference—every call, every shift, every day.

Thank you for your service! ❤️

This week is National Police Week and today is Peace Officer Memorial Day. Please help us in honoring the life of Moscow Police Officer Lee Newibll.

On May 19th, 2007, Officer Lee Newbill made the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect our community. He lost his life in the line of duty while trying to help dispatchers and deputies who were under fire and trapped within the Latah County Sheriff's Office.

Monday marks the 18-year anniversary of Officer Newbill’s death.

Please join us in remembering Officer Newbill and all of the other officers across our county who have lost their lives in the line of duty in order to protect and serve.

I love this picture because it reflects the commitment and cooperation that takes place between our local service clubs. If I recall correctly, they cooked and served about 600 hotdogs. Thank you again Moscow Central Lions and Moscow Rotary Club.

One of the highlights of the Safety Fair is always the Life Flight Network helicopter. They were able to spend a full two hours with us. There was a constant line of kids checking it out. If you are not a member of Life Flight Network, I would recommend you sign up. It is worth every penny to have that service if you ever need it.

At the recent Safety Fair, our fine Moscow Police City of Moscow Police Department along with many University of Idaho athletes helped distribute over 300 bike helmets. The staff from Safe Routes to School was there so kids could participate in a bike rodeo to help improve their biking skills. We also need to thank the Moscow Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Squad who used their funds to pay for the bike helmets. Thanks to all of you!

Back on June 1st, the 18th annual safety fair was a great success. We had 263 kiddos complete entry forms to try and win a bike. The 3 lucky winners will be receiving a brand new bike from ICCU Credit Union, Paradise Creek Bicycles and Kelly Kimberling Insurance Agency. We thank these generous businesses for their donation.
