Building Access, One Neighbor at a Time!

This week began in the warehouse, where volunteers prepared materials for upcoming projects and got everything ready for a busy stretch of ramp builds. From assembling parts to staining lumber, the crew spent the day making sure future projects could get off the ground smoothly.

On Wednesday, the team headed out to help a homeowner gain safer access to their home. Even when a surprise rain shower rolled through, the volunteers kept at it, working together to complete the installation and create a safe path from the porch to the yard.

Thank you to everyone who continues to give their time and talents to this program. Every ramp helps a neighbor stay independent and connected to the home they love.

We're currently hiring a Home Repair Supervisor to help keep programs like Ramps & Rails moving forward. If you're looking for a meaningful way to serve your community and help ensure neighbors continue receiving critical accessibility improvements, we encourage you to apply today through our careers page at https://palousehabitat.org/about-palousehabitatforhumanity/careers/.

Mission Monday: Strong communities aren't just built by one person. They're built by people who choose to show up for one another!

At Palouse Habitat for Humanity, we see that every day. Volunteers give their time, donors invest in their neighbors, local businesses lend their support, and homeowners work alongside us to create brighter futures. When all of those efforts come together, the result is more than a project completed or a goal reached. It's a community that cares.

Our mission has always been about people. It's about creating opportunities, fostering stability, and ensuring that everyone has the chance to thrive. Whether someone is picking up a hammer, making a donation, or simply sharing our story, every contribution helps strengthen the fabric of our community.

That's the power of community: ordinary people coming together to accomplish extraordinary things.

Build with Purpose. Lead with Impact! We’re hiring a Home Repair Supervisor! 🛠️

At Palouse Habitat, home repair is about so much more than fixing a house.

A ramp can mean someone can safely leave their home. A handrail can provide confidence on the front steps. A repair can help a homeowner stay safely and comfortably in the place they call home.

We’re looking for someone with construction experience who wants to put their skills to work for our community. As our Home Repair Supervisor, you’ll oversee the Ramps and Rails program and other home repair projects while working alongside volunteers and homeowners across the Palouse.

$23–$26/hour and available benefits.

If you’re ready to build with purpose and make a difference right here in our community, we’d love to hear from you.

🔨 Turning Preparation into Progress

This week, our Ramps & Rails volunteers turned a little planning, a little problem-solving, and a lot of teamwork into a safer home for a local neighbor.

After spending Tuesday in the warehouse preparing materials and gathering supplies, the crew headed out on Wednesday to build a new accessibility ramp. A forgotten ramp section led to an unexpected delay, but the team adapted, kept moving forward, and had a few laughs along the way until everything came together.

By the end of the day, the homeowner had a safe, sturdy path to their front door and another accessibility project was checked off the list.

We’re grateful for the volunteers who share their time, skills, and heart to help make homes more accessible across our community. Every project helps a neighbor maintain independence and stay connected to the place they call home. ❤️
