Thanks to everyone who came out for our Palouse Group highway cleanup yesterday! We had a great group of volunteers and collected 9 bags of trash from our Adopt-a-Highway section near Potlatch.

It was a really nice day to be outside, get some work done, and leave the roadside looking a whole lot better than we found it.
We’ll be back out there again next year!

Either way, this webinar next Thursday, September 17th at 6pm PT/7pm MT will give you a great overview on what the Roadless Rule is and how it affects us in the Northwest, and concrete ways for you to join in to defend the Roadless Rule.

Speakers from the Sierra Club, the PNW Forest Climate Alliance, Save Our Wild Salmon, and more will provide info about what's going on, then we'll dive into an action session to help you draft your own comment or letter to the editor!

If you’re in the Coeur d’Alene area, there’s a chance next Monday to weigh in on the Northwest’s energy future.

The Northwest Power & Conservation Council is holding a public hearing on its draft 9th Power Plan, which will help guide energy decisions in the region for the next 20 years.

📍 Idaho Fish and Game Office, 2885 W Kathleen Ave, Coeur d’Alene

We’ll also be meeting at Union Roasters Coffee at 3:30 p.m. before the hearing.

ICYMI: Over 150 scientists are speaking out against attempts to overturn protections for the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Utah. They're calling on Congress to oppose any attempt to overturn protections for the beloved monument. Its fossil record, ecological diversity, and cultural resources make it indispensable to scientific discovery and a testament to our shared history as a nation.

The letter states: “As scientists, researchers, and educators from across the United States, we write to reaffirm our deep concern regarding threats to the scientific integrity, management, and long-term protection of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The Utah delegation’s reckless gambit to toss out the monument’s management plan...risks...the future of research and scientific discovery in this unique landscape.”
