OK! We need all y’all to pray real hard that plaster can go on Sunday, and water can start going in so we can swim on Wednesday . This is so close we can smell the chlorine! We need no rain on Sunday.
For real, though, y’all pray for this amazing group of Counselors and staff. Can’t tell you how good they are and how ready they are for the kids to come on Sunday. So proud of them. Many thanks to Cordova Presbyterian Church, Shady Grove Presbyterian Church, Idlewild, Presbyterian Church for the beautiful prayer shawls.

Finish line in sight!

Last call for Leaders in Training!
These students have completed 10th or 11th grade and want to increase their leadership skills. A week of learning offers them necessary knowledge to volunteer at Pinecrest at least a week during the summer - maybe more. It’s a great way to learn, grow, and serve while meeting new friends.

Another great nature observation this week at Pinecrest! After our Little Explorers class on Thursday, we noticed a carpenter ant working very hard to bring a marmorated stink bug up the white oak tree on the Lodge porch.

This was the second observation of the ants hunting and collecting the stink bugs.

Thank you to the ants for helping keep the stink bug population under control! Stink bugs are not native and can be quite annoying in our homes. This year seemed like we had a large population of them than usual.

Carpenter ants are also a favorite snack of our local Woodpeckers.

Let's give it up for ants!

Watering a new plant installation, and this Fowler's Toad came out for a shower.

Have your ever seen a toad use it's hind legs to help clean off the dust?

This weekend we enjoyed our annual Play in the Pines - A Family Overnight. Several wonderful families were able to join us, and enjoyed delicious meals, creek time, a flashlight hike, a campfire with s'mores and songs with this year's Rec Director -Parker, morning huddle, and craft time.

On our flashlight hike, we stopped on the Purple Trail bridge to watch the Blue Ghost Fireflies, a millipede glowing under the blacklight, and saw an armadillo rooting around for his breakfast of grubs and ants!

We had a blast! These kiddos are ready for time at summer camp. Check out our camp listings at camppinecrest.org
