Meet the star-studded cast of Amahl and the Night Visitors!
Isabelle Landis (Amahl)
Isabelle Landis, soprano, graduated from New Saint Andrews College in 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Culture, which included a rigorous year of musical training. From her freshman to senior years, she sang in the college’s honor choir, occasionally appearing as a soloist during concerts. Isabelle grew up singing in church and playing the piano, but she attributes her continued development and love for music to her time at NSA under Dr. Erb. Post-college, Isabelle sings in the choir at Trinity Reformed Church and has been privileged to sing in the Cantus Firmus Chorale in Moscow. While she has been acting in community theater productions for 13 years, Isabelle is delighted to perform in her first opera as Amahl.
Kayla Erb (His Mother)
Kayla Erb, soprano, is a classically trained vocalist from Moscow, Idaho and a recent graduate of New Saint Andrews College. Kayla has been singing for as long as she can remember and has pursued her love of music through choral work, piano studies, and vocal performance. She began her solo career with oratorio and cantata repertoire including Bach's Mass in B Minor, Handel's Messiah, and Respighi's Lauda per la Nativita del Signore. She has appeared as a soloist for music camps and choral festivals in Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and Idaho. She is also the featured soprano soloist for The Cantus Firmus Chorale in Moscow, ID. In spring of 2025, Kayla made her opera debut as Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and continued her operatic adventures in Vienna this past summer, singing Neptune in the international premiere of Pluto. She is thrilled to perform this dream role and hopes you will enjoy Amahl and the Night Visitors.
Cody Laun (Kaspar)
Dr. Cody Laun is a native of the Denver-metro region, where he is in high demand as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator. As a Colorado native, he feels privileged to sing with Colorado Bach Ensemble and St. Martin’s Chamber Choir, who both prioritize hiring Colorado singers. Other notable engagements include roles and solo features with Opera Colorado, Des Moines Metro Opera, Crested Butte Music Festival, Central City Opera, Boulder Opera, Loveland Opera, Carbondale Arts, Opera Mississippi, Mobile Opera, The Denver Philharmonic, and The Muses Creative Artistry Project.
The 2025-2026 season sees him premiering several works/roles, including Finzi’s Dies Natalis with First Baptist Church of Clemson, Nicias in Massenet’s Thaïs with Opera Idaho, a newly composed set of mini-operas in conjunction with the faculty of the University of Wyoming, and his company debut with Inland Northwest Opera, singing Alfred in Die Fledermaus. His competition credits include The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (district winner and regional finalist), NATSAA (national semi-finalist), and The Madame Rose Palmai-Tenser Competition (finalist).
Laun currently serves on the voice faculty at the University of Denver and Colorado Christian University. He formerly taught voice at New Saint Andrews College.
Stefan Gordon (Melchior)
Stefan Gordon has spent his career in nearly equal parts as a performer and an innovator in the field of opera. He has performed in operas, theaters, churches, and in concert in productions in Europe, Asia, and across America. As a stage director and producer, Gordon has worked on shows in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Vienna, the Netherlands, and America. In Austria, the production of Mozart’s "Le Nozze di Figaro" which he co-created ran for over 200 shows.
Roles include Dandini in Cenerentola, Mercutio in Romeo et Juliette, Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro in the Netherlands, and Count in Le Nozze di Figaro in Vienna; In Asia he toured Smokey Joes Café across southern China, Count Gil in Segreto di Susanna and Uberto in Serva Padrona in Macau; In Hong Kong - Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Marquis in La Traviata, Masetto/Commendatore in Don Giovanni and Malatesta in Don Pasquale; in the United States - Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Pirate King and Samuel in Pirates of Penzance, Marullo in Rigoletto, Marquis in La Traviata, Paquillo in La Perichole, Captain Corcoran in HMS Pinafore, Count Carnero in The Gypsy Baron, Prince Paul in Grand Duchess of Gerolstein, Frère Jean in Romeo et Juliette, Sid in Albert Herring, Le mari in Les mamelles de Tiresias, Uberto in Serva Padrona, Demetrius in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Elviro in Serse and the title role in Gianni Schicchi.
Gordon teaches voice and is the director of opera at University of Idaho, and holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from Arizona State University
Jadrian Tarver (Balthazar)
Dr. Jadrian Tarver, baritone, is a native of Haines City, Florida. Dr. Tarver is a dynamic
educator, performer, conductor, and clinician. He has performed with the Spokane Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, Peach State Opera, Capitol City Opera Company, Michigan State University Opera, Inland Northwest Opera Company, and Opera Grand Rapids. His career has also extended internationally, with performances across Europe and Asia, further solidifying his reputation as a distinguished global artist. Operatic roles include Germont in La Traviata, the title role of Gianni Schicchi, Dr. Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, King Balthazar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, The B***e in Madama Butterfly, and Marcello in La Boheme. Musical Theater roles include Mr. Lindquist in Little Night Music and the Duke/Dr. Carrasco/Night of Mirrors in Man of La Mancha.
Currently, he serves as the Director of Voice at Gonzaga University, where he oversees the voice program and acts as the music director for the university’s musical productions. He is also the first Assistant Professor of Applied Voice in Gonzaga’s 136-year history.
In addition to his university role, he serves as the Music Director at Manito United Methodist Church and is the Founding Director of the newly established performance ensemble, Black United Voices of Spokane.
As an educator, he has taught choral and band ensembles in middle and high schools across Metro Atlanta and Florida, experiences that continue to enrich his work in higher education and community music-making. Dr. Jadrian Tarver’s research interests delve into the ways in which Black musical traditions—specifically spirituals, gospel, soul music, and jazz—serve as powerful instruments for emotional healing, cultural memory, and community resilience.
Dr. Tarver holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Bethune-Cookman University, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Georgia State University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance from Michigan State University.
Judah Rauch (The Page)
Judah Rauch is from Moscow, Idaho, and graduated from New Saint Andrews College in 2023. His performance experience includes numerous productions in theatre, musical theatre, concert choir, chamber choir, and opera, with groups such as the University of Idaho, Collegium Musicum Moscow, and Tokyo Opera Studio. His roles have included Papageno in Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Bartolo in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, and he is currently involved in the University of Idaho’s upcoming performance of HMS Pinafore as Dick Deadeye.
