We observed Scout Sunday today, February 8 (Scouting Anniversary Day), marking 116 years of the founding of Scouting America and recognizing the impact our Scouts and Scouters make in our community. We joined our chartered organization, the First Presbyterian Church of Moscow, in their services and gave thanks for their continued support of Scouting and all our lives that it has influenced.

Cheers to all who donated supplies to our Troop 344 Day #2 Appaloosa District - Inland Northwest Council Scouting for Food event yesterday! The drive collected over 900 pounds of donations in just six hours from our troop's two collection locations in front of Rosauers and Walmart. Your generosity has enabled the Moscow Food Bank and West Side Food Pantry to provide support for those in our community who face food insecurity.

Combined with our total collected by Troop 344 last Sunday on November 9, the Moscow community shared around 2294 pounds of total donations for our Moscow food banks.

Thank you, everyone!

We are back at it for this year's Inland Northwest Council, Scouting America's Scouting for Food drive!

Today, our Scouts will be at two storefront locations, located in front of Rosauers (411 N Main St, Moscow, ID 83843) or Walmart (2470 Pullman Rd, Moscow, ID 83843) in Moscow, Idaho.

You can drop off your donations, pick up a suggested donation list from us in person for while you shop at either store to drop off with us on your way out, or use our Bingo card to help you find the most requested items for our local food banks here in town when you're out and about doing a Good Turn as your world permits.

As Scouts, we know how fortunate we are to have a warm meal every night — whether around the campfire or at the kitchen table. And we know that not everyone is so lucky.

Scouting for Food directly addresses food insecurity by collecting and donating nonperishable items to local food banks, pantries, and shelters. The program offers Scouts the opportunity to learn about the needs of their community, develop leadership skills, and make meaningful contributions to the well-being of others. The program brings attention to the issue of hunger and provides a tangible way for community members to support those struggling to afford food. Scouting for Food is an excellent example of how Scouts can apply their skills and values to make a real difference in their communities.

That’s why we participate annually in the Inland Northwest Council, Scouting America's Scouting for Food drive. It’s another reminder to our local communities that Scouts are here, doing Good Turns.

Come visit us between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the following days to find out how you can help:
