As Scouts, we know how fortunate we are to have a warm meal every night — whether around the campfire or at the kitchen table. And we know that not everyone is so lucky.
Scouting for Food directly addresses food insecurity by collecting and donating nonperishable items to local food banks, pantries, and shelters. The program offers Scouts the opportunity to learn about the needs of their community, develop leadership skills, and make meaningful contributions to the well-being of others. The program brings attention to the issue of hunger and provides a tangible way for community members to support those struggling to afford food. Scouting for Food is an excellent example of how Scouts can apply their skills and values to make a real difference in their communities.
That’s why we participate annually in the Inland Northwest Council, Scouting America's Scouting for Food drive. It’s another reminder to our local communities that Scouts are here, doing Good Turns.
Come visit us between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the following days to find out how you can help:
Sunday, November 9
Sunday, November 16
We will be at two storefront locations, located in front of Rosauers (411 N Main St, Moscow, ID 83843) or Walmart (2470 Pullman Rd, Moscow, ID 83843) in Moscow, Idaho.
You can drop off your donations, pick up a suggested donation list from us in person for while you shop at either store to drop off with us on your way out, or use our Bingo card to help you find the most requested items for our local food banks here in town when you're out and about doing a Good Turn as your world permits.
Thank you for helping us care for our community!
