🏛️ ALABAMA FLOODED WITH PROTESTS: The Massive National "All Roads Lead to the South" March
Title: CIVIL REVOLUTION ALERT! More Than 5,000 People Take Over the Alabama Capitol in a Historic National Mobilization to Defend Black Political Representation
The spirit of the civil rights movement has set the streets of the Deep South ablaze with a force not seen in decades. Under the banner "All Roads Lead to the South," more than 5,000 demonstrators, human rights activists, faith leaders, and lawmakers from across the nation flooded the state of Alabama for a massive day of direct action. The mobilization began in the morning with a prayer service at the historic Tabernacle Baptist Church in Selma, followed by a massive, solemn walk across the iconic Edmund Pettus Bridge. Afterward, the crowd moved in caravans and buses toward the capital, Montgomery, assembling a massive and historic protest in front of the steps of the Alabama State Capitol itself. The catalyst for this historic deployment was the recent Supreme Court ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, which convening organizations like the NAACP argue effectively guts the protections of the Voting Rights Act and has given conservative Southern legislatures a green light to redraw congressional maps that dilute and erase the political representation of Black communities.
