🏈 Heat & Game Update 9-4-26

After discussions with the Bloomington Cardinals and due to the elevated heat conditions/forecast for tomorrow using the IHSA’s Wet Globe Temperature technology, we unfortunately have to cancel all tackle football games for this weekend.

We will keep the flag football games as scheduled for early Saturday morning.

We do not take these decisions lightly, and we know this is disappointing news. As always player safety and hydration remain our absolute top priorities.

We will be discussing all
potential rescheduling options with the Bloomington coaches and board, and we will keep you all informed via Facebook and the Crossbar app once we have a solution in place.

We appreciate your understanding not only with this difficult decision, but also throughout this week as we did our best to navigate the unfortunate heat conditions.

🏈 Heat & Practice Update 9-3-26

Due to the further elevated heat conditions as well as the forecast for tonight, ALL practices for tonight are cancelled.

While we know this is disappointing news, player safety and hydration remain our top priorities.

We will continue to monitor the forecast and conditions, and will provide any necessary updates for this weekend’s games via our page and the Crossbar app.

🚨 FLAG FOOTBALL SCHEDULE UPDATE 🚨

Due to the extreme heat, tonight’s flag games have been moved to Saturday, September 5:

🏈 The 5:30 PM games will now begin at 9:00 AM. Players should arrive by 8:45 AM.

🏈 The 6:30 PM game will now begin at 10:00 AM. Players should arrive by 9:45 AM.

Volunteers do not need to report tonight. Your assignments have been moved to Saturday:

* Setup: 8:00–9:00 AM
* Concessions: 8:30–11:00 AM
* Transition help: 11:00 AM–noon

If you cannot make your reassigned Saturday time, please let us know as soon as possible.

Due to the continued elevated heat conditions and forecast for tonight, player safety and hydration remain our top priorities.

At this time, we are expecting ALL teams will be able to practice without equipment (no pads or helmets) today.

Coaches will be providing additional water breaks, monitoring players closely, and adjusting practice intensity if conditions require it.

Please have players hydrate throughout the day, eat water-rich foods, and bring plenty of extra fluids to practice. Watch the Crossbar app for any weather-related updates or changes.

🏈 GAME DAY RESULTS 🏈

Another Saturday of Morton Hogs football is in the books! Our 3rd-grade team battled the Bloomington Knockers, while our 4th–8th-grade teams traveled to take on the Twin City Tigers.

We’re proud of every player who stepped onto the field and competed for Morton. Thank you to our coaches, families and volunteers for supporting our teams all day!
