Congrats to the South Side Los Traviosos, winners of the CSYBA Fall Ball Albatross Division.

The Traviosos were undefeated in regular season play and opened the playoffs with a dominant victory over the Berwyn Bombers. In the semi-finals they were paired against the Addison Blazers, who of which the core of that team were the 2023 defending Albatross Champions. The Traviosos made quick work of them in a decisive victory.

In the championship game, the Traviosos were paired with a very tough Elmhurst Knights team. In what was a close ballgame throughout, the Travisos were able to get the W by the score of 5 - 3, securing the championship.

Great Job to coach Robert and all the players on the Traviosos!

Congrats to the Northlake Knights, winners of the Fall Ball Sparrow Divisision! The Knights were one of the best teams all season, compiling a near perfect 7-1 regular season record and earning the #6 seed in the 64-team tournament.

They opened the tournament with convincing early round victories over Schiller Park Red and the Des Plaines Tigers. They then narrowly squeeked by the Lincolnwood Scorpions in the 3rd round by the score of 5 - 4.

In the quarter-finals, they handily took care of the Morton Grove Dragons by the score of 7 - 2. In the semi-finals, they beat the #2 seeded Elmwood Park Royal Blue 4 - 1, avenging their only regular season loss.

In the championship game they squared off with the #4 seeded Lincolnwood Wolfpack. On an 80* late October night in front of a large crown in attendance, the Knights jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. While the Wolfpack rallied late in the game to make it close, the Knights were too much for them, and took home the championship by the final score of 11 - 7.

Including regular season and playoffs, the Knights finished with a 13-1 regular season record. Great job Northlake Baseball

Congrats to Wilmette Gray, winners of the Summer Ball Sparrow Division!

Wilmette Gray was the best team all season, compiling a near perfect 11 - 0 - 1 record in the regular season. This earned themselves the #1 seed in the league tournament.

After earning a first round bye, they had brief scare in the second round, squeeking by the #17 seeded Kenilworth-WInnetka Red team by the score of 5-4. Wilmette Gray then cruised through the next two rounds with convincing victories over the Evanston Navy Warriors and Lincolnwood Red.

Wilmette Gray was then paired against the #2 seeded Lincolnwood Royal in the championship game. In front of a large crowd at beautiful Roemer Park, the two teams put on a great game. Lincolnwood jumped out to an early 4-1 lead after the first inning, and added to it, having a 6-1 lead heading into the bottom of the 3rd. Wilmette came fighting back with a 4-run inning in the 3rd, and then tied the game in the bottom of the 4th. Wilmette was able to take the lead in the bottom of the 5th and held on in the last inning, taking the championsip by the score of 8-6.

Congrats to the Franklin Park Vipers, winners of the Summer Ball Falcon Division!

With just two losses in the regular season, the Vipers entered the playoff tournament as the #3 seed. After a pair of overwhelming early round victories against the Skokie Baseball Cubs and Wilmette Gray, they advanced to the semi-finals to take on the #2 seeded Northbrook Spartans. They continued their march through the tournament with a convincing 11-3 victory against the Spartans.

In the championship they were paired with the #5 seeded Evanston Mustangs. The Mustangs were a middle of the road team in the regular season, but got on a roll in the playoffs, with wins over the Glenview Baseball Team, Highland Park Giants, and Deerfield White Sox to make it to the championship.

The championship game lived up to the hype, with it being a low-scoring, tight game throughout. It remained a tie game heading into the bottom of the 6th inning. After getting a runner on base, the Vipers hit a walk off base hit to take home the championship by a final score of 2-1.

Great job Franklin Park Vipers!

Congrats to the Oriole Park Astros, winners of the 2024 Summer Eagle Division!

The Astros has an 8-3 regular season record, which earned them the #4 seed in the tournament and a first round bye. In the second round they took on the Dunham Bulls Red team and won by the score of 7-3. In the semi-finals, they faced off with the #1 seeded Dunham Bulls White team, and won the game by the score of 1-0.

The Astros were then paired with the Franklin Park Vipers in the championship game, a team they had lost to by one run just two weeks earlier. In front of a large crowd in attendance at Gouin Park on a Monday Night, the Vipers and Astros put on a great show for all those in attendance. Several lead changes throughout the game, led to the Astros being up by the score of 4-3, heading into the fifth inning. In the bottom of the fifth, the Vipers rallied to score two runs, taking a 5-4 lead. This score held until the 7th inning, when the Orioles were down to their last three outs. After loading the bases with nobody out, the Vipers were able to turn a double play, but the tying run scored. With the scored then tied and two-outs, the Astros hitter crushed a triple to deep right-center field to give the Astros a one run lead. They were then able to shut the Vipers down in the last inning, securing the 6-5 victory.

Amazing game by both teams. Congrats to Oriole Park Baseball - Chicago!

In the first round they knocked off the #5 Dunham Dash, a core of which were part of the 2023 defending champion Dunham Dash team. The Expos would then go on to defeat the Park Ridge Slammers in the semi-finals game by a tight 6-5 score.

In the championship game, the Expos were paired with the Park Ridge Bombers. It was a very tight game throughout, with the Expos holding a 1-0 lead until the bottom of the 5th. With 2-outs and the Bases Loaded on a full-count, the Expos smashed a three-run double to break the game wide open and take a commanding 4-0 lead. That score would hold, with the Expos completing a shutout victory to secure the championship.

Great job the Coach Gill, the Lombard Expos, and the Lombard Baseball League on a great season!
