Congrats to the Villa Park Venom, winners of the CSYBA 8u Division.

The Venom carried a 10 - 3 regular season record into post-season play, earning themselves the #5 seed and a first round bye.

They won a tight 6-5 game vs Frankfort Force in the Round of 16, before a pair of convincing victories over 312 Baseball and Merrionette Express in the subsequent rounds. They paired off with the Plainfield Tornadoes a team who defeated them much earlier in the season. On Championship Sunday, the Venom took home the victory by the score of 9 - 2.

Congrats to Rhino Baseball - winners of the CSYBA 7u Division. They faced off with a tough Oak Lawn Lightning team in the finals on Sunday and it was quite a battle.

Oak Lawn took an early lead 1-0, but Rhino tied it up at 1-1. Oak Lawn against took a 2-1 lead, before Rhino tied it up at 2 after the 3rd inning. The score stayed that way in the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings. Not often do you see extra innings baseball at the 7u level. Rhino smacked 3 straight singles in the bottom of the 7th inning to walk it off for a 3 - 2 championship victory.

A fantastic game overall in front of a massive crowd. Congrats to both teams on a well-played championship game!

Congrats to the Whiteford Bulldogs, winners of the 9u A Division tournament.

Whiteford went undefeated in pool play advancing to Championship Monday. After a victory over the Ridge Beverly Celtics, the Bulldogs had a decisive victory over the Manteno Raptors to take the championship.

Great job Bulldogs! And also, an absolutely amazing job to all of Whiteford Baseball, who went above and beyond as one of our host sites for the Memorial Day Weekend Tournament. The grounds crew was out in full force Sunday morning to get the fields ready, and numerous Whiteford board members were there throughout, ensuring a very smooth tournament. Whiteford also sets the standard for what a concession stand should look like.

Thank you Whiteford and congrats to the 9u Bulldogs.
