Today, members of Volunteer Clayton County had a wonderful time serving alongside Ward 4 Councilwoman Latresa Akins-Wells at her monthly Community Closet. It was a privilege to help welcome community members, organize clothing, and support a program that provides free clothing and shoes to individuals and families in need.

Volunteering is one of the simplest ways to make a meaningful impact, and we’re always excited to lend a helping hand wherever it’s needed in Clayton County.

I truly believe Volunteer Clayton County has the potential to become a powerhouse of service in our community.

My vision is for us to be known as a group of people who selflessly show up whenever an opportunity to help arises. At every volunteer event in Clayton County, I want people to see at least two of us there, proudly wearing our yellow Volunteer Clayton County shirts.

Over time, those yellow shirts can become a symbol of service, positivity, and people who can always be counted on when the community needs support. We represent the good happening throughout Clayton County.

Whenever you plan to volunteer at an event, please wear your yellow Volunteer Clayton County shirt and share the opportunity in this group. Keep posting and encouraging others until at least one more member commits to joining you. We are stronger and can make a greater impact when we serve together.

Wonderful time volunteering today with Deborah Burke Johnson and others at the City of Jonesboro Community Garden.

We spent time adding mulch to help prepare for the future wall of sunflowers and planting sunflower seeds in little cups so they can get started. It felt good to be part of something that will keep growing long after today.

There is something special about working alongside good people, doing simple hands-on work, and knowing it is all for the community. I’m grateful I was able to be there today.

Had such a great time this past Saturday at our Volunteer Clayton County volunteer member social! It was a full afternoon of food, lots of laughs, and even some karaoke 🎤☺️💜

It meant a lot to see so many familiar faces come out and just enjoy being together outside of everything we do to serve the community in our daily lives.

A big thank you to Tea 365 Deluxe ⭐️for providing such a great space for us to gather. The setting, food, drinks, and karaoke was perfect, and we appreciate your hospitality!

Thank you to each of you again for showing up and sharing your wonderful smiles and positive energy. Already looking forward to our next gathering💜
