It is not just Morro Bay In Bloom and the City of Morro Bay that work to keep our town beautiful. Business owners as well do their part to make this the best stop on the Central Coast. The bead store on Morro Bay Blvd. is well known by visitors far and wide, but what people may not realize, is that if you walk through the store and out the back, there is a beautiful garden full of tropical and native surprises, as well as many more items to purchase to help commemorate your time spent on the Central Coast. 💐

JULY GARDENING CALENDAR🌱🌿🌳

Gardening days are open to everyone of all ages, including visitors. All group gardening days are from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Please wear sturdy clothes and shoes, sunscreen and a hat, and drink water. All tools are provided.

*Every Wednesday - Embarcadero and Harbor St.
*Saturday July 11 - Morro Bay Blvd. Round-a-bout
*Saturday July 18 - Coleman Beach Parking Lot (across from the stacks)
*Saturday July 25 - Centennial Parkway (giant chessboard)

Make sure to come out and meet us at our first Art In The Park this 4th of July weekend! We will have a booth set up where you can chat with volunteers, sign-up for our newsletter, and pick up some new merchandise. Donations are always welcome, as are tales from your garden.

Another great clean-up job by our volunteers! Deadheading may not be the most exciting chore in the garden, but it delivers in instant gratification. These agave flower stalks are heavy and unsightly once all of the flowers are spent and the bees are gone. Plus, the floret that the stalk sprouts from dies, making way for the pups that have started forming at the base. So, to improve the view, protect the slope, and give the baby plants room to grow, it was time to cut down the 10+ foot stalks. 🥀🪚
