SiteTime opened with a movement installation/performance, Scene one: Slumping, with Erika Senft Miller and company of dancers and collaborators: Holly Chagnon Mia Piñheiro Lydia Kern Navah Stein Mireya Guerra Sage Horsey.
This time-lapse of the net event allows us further access visually into the concept of "tree time" as stated by Senft Miller. The dropping of frames in the video lets us better understand how a tree might experience the world around it. More focused on breathing, as seen in the performers chests. And subtle movement based more on the force of gravity in addition to the elements surrounding, as witnessed by the slow shift of the driftwood and human limbs. While we all wiz by in a blur the tree stands poised and focused, rooted and not phased by the world around.
Micah Dudash, Rene Greenlee, Alana Rancourt Phinney, Magnolia Zebrowski and Michael Zebrowski documented the performance through video, photography and we look forward to sharing all their perspectives.
