The Woman's Club's newest members were recently welcomed at a reception hosted by the Executive Board at our clubhouse. The evening featured a nostalgic look back from a long-time member, a tour of the house, and an informal installation ceremony -- and, of course, delicious refreshments. Interested in joining us? Our members celebrated the Wearing (and Eating) of the Green at our March 17 general meeting. Following our business meeting, in a nod to Women's History Month, members were invited to create squares to add to the club's America 250 quilt. When completed, that quilt will also feature squares made by members of the public during First Night festivities at our clubhouse.

Yoga instructor Sarah Shea led Club members though a series of chair yoga poses and stretching exercises following the February general meeting, bringing a bit of mindfulness and inner peace to a busy day.

Thank you to everyone who dropped off items last week during our Holiday Bazaar donation collection! Our inventory's off to a great start! These treasures and more will be available at our sale in November.

Following our January general meeting, members tagged hundreds of donated hand-knitted hats and scarves. These will be hung on our clubhouse fence during the winter months to be taken by those in the community who need a bit of warmth.

Our Holiday Boutique donation collection is this Saturday. Drop-off is quick and easy -- just pull up to our Clubhouse's back doors, and pop open your trunk, and Santa's helpers will bring your donations inside!

The Woman's Club was a First Night Morris venue for the first time this New Year's Eve! Costumed club members presented historical vignettes showcasing three Morristown Heroines of History: Martha Woodhull Condict, wife of Dr. Condict (our clubhouse is their former home); Cornelia Halsey Kellogg, preservationist; and Alison Turnbull Hopkins, suffragist. Afterwards, guests could create a square to be added to a quilt being assembled by the Club to commemorate America's 250th birthday. Through artwork on their quilt squares, children and adults alike shared their hopes and dreams for our country in this milestone year.
