The Market Street Mission is an experienced organization with a proven method of helping to fight alcoholism, drug abuse, hunger, and homelessness throughout NJ since 1889. Our mission is to surround our neighbors in need with God’s love and everything they need to get back on their feet – food and shelter, counseling and job trainin

g, spiritual guidance and Bible study – to live stable, productive lives in our community. Through our Emergency Services and residential Life Change Addiction Recovery Program, we are able to care for people's immediate needs today and long-term needs for a stable, independent tomorrow. We offer free daily meals, overnight shelter for men, showers, grocery boxes, & vouchers to our Thrift Store. Our faith-based drug and alcohol addiction recovery program for men is completely free, no insurance necessary, and includes counseling, Bible study, AA/NA meetings, job skills training, & classroom instruction.

⛳ We're honored to be the beneficiary of the 5th Annual Michael's Mission Memorial Golf Tournament. This event is presented and hosted by Michael's Mission 611 and we're incredibly grateful that the proceeds will support the men and programs at Market Street Mission.

💙 September is National Recovery Month! This month, we celebrate the courage it takes to ask for help, the strength it takes to choose recovery, and the hope that comes with a new beginning.

At Market Street Mission, we believe recovery is possible. Every day, men are taking steps toward freedom from addiction, rebuilding relationships, discovering purpose, and creating a new future, through our Life Change Addiction Recovery Program.

Recovery doesn't happen alone. It happens because people are willing to walk alongside those who are struggling—and because a community chooses to believe that change is possible.

Throughout September, we'll be sharing stories of hope, healing, and transformation and highlighting the many ways you can support those on the journey to recovery.

Join us in celebrating recovery and reminding those who are struggling: You are not alone. There is hope. 💙

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we pause to remember the lives lost to overdose and stand alongside the families and loved ones who continue to grieve.

At Market Street Mission, we know that behind every statistic is a person — a child, sibling, parent, friend, or neighbor. And for those still struggling with addiction, there is still hope.

Every day at Market Street Mission, we witness that recovery is possible. Through our Life Change Addiction Recovery Program, men are given the opportunity to find freedom from addiction, rebuild their lives, and discover a new sense of purpose.

Today, we remember.
We grieve.
We stand together.
And we remain committed to helping those who are still searching for a way forward.

Recovery is possible. No one has to walk the road alone.

Thank you so much to our friends at the BBB For Life Foundation for purchasing a new freezer for our Market Street Mission - Jersey Shore location!

This new freezer has been a huge help for Dino and our kitchen team as we serve our neighbors in the Asbury Park community with free meals, every day of the year! 🍽️

It's that time of year again: back-to-school season! 🎒✏️📓 This year through Project Backpack, we were able to provide 40 bags full of school supplies for the children of our Life Change Addiction Recovery Program residents and alumni.

These backpacks are a simple but important way to help the men in our care connect with their families while they pursue healing and recovery here at the Mission!

No one is broken beyond repair, and no life is unable to be restored. And that's why our addiction recovery program operates everyday of the year - to offer men the resources they need to heal and rebuild their lives. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, don't hesitate to reach out for help! Our doors are open.

Our Life Change Addiction Recovery Program is an 8-12 month Christian addiction recovery program that includes 12-step work, individual and group counseling, and education and job training. Our program is free of charge, and no insurance is required. There is hope for recovery!
