Ride The Wave Foundation

What is Wave? The Ride The Wave Foundation (RTW) was established by Jeff Fisher in 2023. We offer free business training to individuals who feel marginalized by society, seek assistance, and aspire to improve their lives. Our mission is to empower individuals from within, employing the principles of servant leadership and other business concepts. Here is a glimpse of the

training we provide:

• The Power of Positivity
• Fueling Encouragement
• Finding Purpose
• Being a Go Giver
• Goal Setting
• Job Search Guidance
• And Much More! We aim to bridge the gap between education and government programs by tapping into the skills of ordinary people who want to help by teaching others. With homelessness on the rise, RTW believes that genuine power and change come from personal connections and understanding. To facilitate this, we've launched the Wave podcast, a platform for people in need to share their stories, featuring individuals from various walks of life. In the future, RTW plans to introduce a training program for individuals from the middle to upper class who want to learn how to connect and show grace towards others but may not know how to do so. The goal is to equip them with practical skills for engaging in meaningful conversations with those they might typically overlook. How was RTW Formed? RTW's founder, Jeff Fisher, was profoundly influenced by the unlikely relationships he formed. These connections led to the creation of RTW.

1st Interaction:

While strolling down South Street in Morristown, NJ, Jeff encountered Lorenzo, who was selling splash paintings on the sidewalk. Lorenzo invited Jeff to view his artwork, sparking a conversation that Jeff found truly engaging. Jeff admired Lorenzo's energy and determination, despite the challenges he faced. Lorenzo's motivation became a source of inspiration for Jeff.

2nd Interaction:

During a café meeting with Lorenzo to discuss potential collaboration, Jeff met Marc Robinson. Jeff couldn't help but notice the numerous pens on the table, and Marc proudly shared one of his drawings. Like Lorenzo, Marc was eager to improve himself. Jeff and Marc, at first glance, seemed like an unlikely pair, with different backgrounds and appearances. However, their trust-building efforts led to a valuable friendship, revealing that they had more in common than they initially thought.

3rd Interaction:

The catalyst for Wave occurred when Jeff encountered Darryl Zilinski near his parents' home. Jeff noticed a van in rough shape with a man sleeping inside. Acting on a feeling, Jeff approached the van, knocked on the window, and asked if the man needed help. Darryl shared his story, and Jeff provided him with encouragement and assurance that things would improve. This encounter left a lasting impact on both of them, but Jeff lost sight of Darryl for a while. Months later, just before leaving for the EntreLeadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, Jeff spotted Darryl's van near the convenience store. He immediately turned around to check on Darryl, who looked significantly better. Their initial encounter had changed Darryl's life, giving him hope and purpose. This emotional interaction marked a turning point for both Jeff and Darryl, eventually leading to their friendship and the inception of the Wave concept during Jeff's flight home. Last Interaction:

Jeff's final encounter that lead to the formation of RTW was with Hal in a café. Hal had suffered a stroke and appeared to be struggling with mobility. Despite his rudeness toward the staff, Jeff decided to engage with him, positioning himself with an open demeanor. To Jeff's surprise, Hal responded positively, and they bonded over a shared interest in a book by an author both admired. Their conversation veered toward topics of positivity and spirituality, creating a positive energy in the room. Jeff discovered a formula for approaching others with genuine intentions to get to know them. What RTW Will Provide:

• Free training classes
• Books
• Action plan handouts
• Apparel
• Transportation to City Relief in

Newark, NJ, for those in need of food, clothing, addiction counseling, and more

RTW Does Not:
• Give money
• Provide legal advice
• Offer professional counseling

One of the biggest reasons we started the Ride The Wave Podcast was simple:

Too many people go unheard.

Behind every person experiencing homelessness is a story.
A childhood.
A struggle.
A dream.
A loss.
A purpose.
A voice that deserves dignity and understanding.

Through the Ride The Wave Podcast, we sit down with individuals experiencing homelessness, volunteers, organizations, community leaders, and people doing meaningful work on the front lines every day.

The goal has never been content for views.

The goal has always been connection, understanding, awareness, and giving people a platform to share their truth.

Some of the most powerful conversations we’ve ever had came from people society often walks past every day.

Right now, we’ve hit some financial challenges behind the scenes, and we are actively looking for support, sponsors, partnerships, and donations to help continue and grow the podcast so these stories can keep reaching people.

Because stories change hearts.
And changed hearts change communities.

If you believe in what we’re building and want to help us continue giving people a voice, we’d truly appreciate the support.

In a world full of distractions, noise, and people waiting for their turn to speak…

real listening has become rare.

One of the core WaveMaker principles is:
Practice Active Listening.

Not listening to respond.
Not listening to fix.
Not listening while looking at your phone.

But listening to truly understand another person.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can offer someone is your full attention, your patience, and your presence.

People may forget advice.
They may forget words.
But they rarely forget how you made them feel when they were genuinely heard.

Whether in leadership, mentorship, friendship, marriage, business, or community outreach…
listening changes people.

“The path is to the person.”

Over the last couple weeks, you may have noticed that Ride The Wave has been quieter than usual online.

I wanted to be transparent with everyone about where things currently stand.

Behind the scenes, the mission has never stopped.

We’ve still been going into the community, maintaining relationships, providing tents, sleeping bags, hygiene supplies, food, transportation support, and other survival essentials where we can. The outreach work continues — even when the cameras are off.

At the same time, there have been real challenges financially.

As many of you know, I recently had to walk away from my previous business, NCK Equipment, after a difficult season. But through that transition, a new opportunity opened up, and next Monday I begin a new position with an IT company while continuing to build Ride The Wave forward step by step.

The vision has never changed.

Our long-term commitment is still to build an all-inclusive modern campus where individuals experiencing homelessness can rebuild their lives, discover purpose, receive mentorship, and feel accepted until they become the best version of themselves.

Right now, we are actively seeking:
• Donations to continue and expand Wave Outreach
• Sponsors to help relaunch the Ride The Wave show and amplify awareness
• A volunteer or fractional social media manager to help us consistently share the mission online
• Community partners who believe in the vision and want to help build something meaningful

This organization has never been about perfection, hype, or appearances.

It has always been about people.

The path is still to the person.

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in this mission, support the outreach, pray for us, share the content, donate supplies, or simply encourage us during difficult seasons. It means more than you know.

This is not content. This is real life.

I’m here today with friends from the community. Not strangers. Not statistics. Real people with real stories who deserve to be seen.

Every single day, we’re out here doing the work. Building relationships. Listening. Showing up. Walking side by side with people who the world too often walks past.

At Ride The Wave Foundation, we live by one principle:

The path is to the person.

Because when someone feels seen, something shifts. Hope comes back. Strength starts to rebuild. Purpose begins to rise again.

That’s what this movement is about.

Not just helping someone for a moment
But walking with them until they can stand strong again

We are building something bigger right now
A campus. A place where people can come, stay, grow, and become their best selves

But we cannot do this alone

There is a difference between reacting to darkness and responding with purpose.

Too often, we spend our energy fighting what is broken. Fighting systems. Fighting circumstances. Fighting the weight of the moment.

But real transformation does not come from resistance alone. It comes from introducing something stronger.

Light.

At Ride The Wave Foundation, we see this every day. When someone is met with dignity instead of judgment, when a conversation replaces isolation, when a simple act of presence shifts someone’s direction. That is light entering the equation.

The path is not to overpower darkness. The path is to outshine it.

That is what mentorship does. That is what community does. That is what servant leadership does.

If you believe in building people up instead of tearing systems down, you are already part of the solution.

Stay consistent. Keep showing up. Bring the light.

The path to the person. 🌊

We have the traction. Now, we need the team.

Connection doesn’t start with a script. It starts with your energy. ⚡️

Before you even say "hello," your presence has already told a story. In his book WaveMaker, our founder Jeff Fisher breaks down a life-changing principle: Radiate Positive Energy.
Whether we’re on the lake with our foster youth or meeting someone new in the community, the walls only come down when we lead with:

✅ A genuine smile
✅ Calm posture
✅ Zero judgment
✅ True presence

Real connection isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being safe. When we show up with positive energy, we create a foundation for healing and impact.
How are you showing up for your community today? Let’s discuss in the comments! 👇

Today wasn’t just about meals. It was about dignity.

Through Wave Outreach, we were able to distribute 60 meals across a local rooming house and nearby motels. These are real people, often overlooked, who simply needed someone to show up.

This is what Ride The Wave Foundation does. We step into the gaps that others miss.

But here’s the reality. This is just the beginning.

There are still people out there right now who haven’t eaten. Still people trying to navigate life without transportation, support, or a clear path forward.

That’s why we’re building something bigger. A system. A mentorship model. A future campus where people don’t just survive, they rebuild.

If this speaks to you, we need you with us.

We are building something different.

A modern campus where people experiencing homelessness can rebuild their lives and stay until they feel whole again.

Right now:

Wave Outreach is meeting real needs on the ground
WaveMaker Mentorship is proving a one-on-one model that works
We are filling gaps others overlook

Next: Project Dignity
A live-in pilot to test the full model

And through our podcast, we are inviting charities, volunteers, and leaders to step in and be part of the mission

This is the path forward
