RAMP Joined the Fun at Diversity Day!

Last month, RAMP celebrated Diversity Day as part of the Diversity Coalition of Morris County. We set up a table at the celebratory day recognizing all the diverse people and cultures here. Read more about. We interacted with attendees introducing them to RAMP, providing them with information about us, collecting contact information for potential volunteers and donors, and giving out little trinkets for children. Duha K.and Luna T. of our first RAMP family provided small samples of their delicious homemade baklava. United Nations-designated World Refugee Day is June 20th, spotlighting refugees’ right to safety and opportunities for education and economic security.

On a local scale, Refugee Assistance Morris Partners (RAMP) meets this UN-designated day with volunteers dedicated to providing extensive help to vetted and documented families and individuals, all year-long. RAMP’s volunteers provide housing, clothing, education and employment opportunities, often thanks to our donors.

RAMP needs YOU to assist with our efforts by providing funding support, which are vitally important to continue our work to provide refugees a Bridge to a New Life!

The social service team works to make sure the family receives the social services that they are eligible for, such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Medicaid. They help the family get NJ Motor Vehicle ID and other social services as needed. The Social Service team assists the family as needed while RAMP is sponsoring them. However, the majority of the work is done in the first three months.
