At Ridin' High, we believe that exceptional horse care starts with attention to the details--and saddle fit is a very important detail.
This week, we were incredibly fortunate to have Amanda Smith Cross, a nationally respected, certified saddle fitter spend many hours evaluating our horses and helping us optimize their saddle setups. Every adjustment was made with the comfort, health, and wellbeing of our horses in mind, while also ensuring that our riders have the support they need to ride safely and effectively.
A properly fitted saddle helps prevent pressure points, soreness, restricted movement, and discomfort. It is one of the key best practices in responsible horse care and directly impacts both horse and rider performance.
Amanda (Rider’s Emporium) is among the most highly trained professionals in her field, having received extensive education in Great Britain and completed rigorous certification examinations. She is a Registered Qualified Saddle Fitter through the Society of Master Saddlers. The Society is one of only two Saddle Fitting Certifications worldwide that are equivalent to a university degree. Amanda is the only trained fitter in Tennessee with this level of education and experience! She works with horses and riders across the country and is widely respected for her expertise.
We are especially grateful that she donated thousands of dollars in professional services to Ridin' High and took the time to educate our volunteers, staff, and riders along the way. Her willingness to share her knowledge helps us continue raising the standard of care for every horse in our program.
Thank you, Amanda!
