We’re honored to share that Ridin’ High has been named the ‘Best Horse Riding School in Morristown for 2026!’

The ‘Best of 2026’ award letter states, “This distinction reflects a level of excellence that has earned the confidence, respect, and praise of the customers you serve each day.”

That recognition means so much to us because Ridin’ High is truly a community effort. At its core, this award belongs to our amazing staff, dedicated volunteers, supportive board members, wonderful participants/families, generous donors, and everyone who believes in what we do.

And, of course, we want to give a special shout-out to the horses! They are at the heart of everything we do and have an incredible way of changing lives, simply by being themselves.

Thank you ALL for believing in Ridin’ High, supporting our mission, and helping us make a difference. One rider and one horse at a time.

We absolutely LOVE having Gallop, our Equicizer mechanical horse, as part of our therapy program!

Gallop gives our riders a way to experience the movement of horseback riding, while also providing a safe manner in which they can build motor skills, confidence, strength, balance, and independence.

Gallop can also be moved anywhere in the facility, thanks to the matting project that creates safe and smooth surfaces—which opens up even more therapeutic opportunities.

Finally, we want to offer a HUGE thank you to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation for funding "Gallop" and the matting project. Both significantly help improve the quality of life for our participants!

Groundwork is a great way to build communication and trust with your horse. Ava and Shelby are learning to use subtle body language to communicate at a distance with their horses. Very impressive!

One of our goals at Ridin’ High is to help each rider reach their highest level of independence.

For some riders, that might mean holding the reins without assistance or balancing well enough to reduce sidewalker support. For others, it’s steering through a barrel pattern by themselves for the first time -- or even trotting without help.

Reaching these goals helps riders build confidence, balance, coordination, motor planning, and a host of other skills that carry over into everyday life.

We are SO proud of the hard work our young people have done this summer to help improve our facility.

As an example, several of them hauled multiple loads of chat stone to make the approach to our bridge much safer and smoother for the horses to cross.

Many other of our young people have spent hours mowing, w**d eating, pulling w**ds, and working tirelessly on the stall projects. Of course, they regularly help with the horses and lessons. We appreciate ALL of them spending their summer helping in countless ways at Ridin' High.
