It's a joy to hear how ongoing support improves tutor development!

Teaching on-site can be overwhelming. The classroom can become a poor working environment if early educators aren't supported.

So we provide our tutors with instructional coaches and site coordinators to support them throughout the program. With this support, our tutors improve which directly helps our scholars improve!

As the 2025-26 tutoring session comes to a close, we're celebrating the dedication, hard work, and growth we've witnessed throughout the school year.

To our scholars: Congratulations on all you've accomplished. Your persistence, curiosity, and commitment to learning made this a year to be proud of.

To our tutors, instructional coaches, site supervisors, educators, and school staff: Thank you for the countless hours you invested in supporting scholars and helping them reach their goals.

Student success is never the result of one person. It takes a team of caring adults working together to create opportunities for growth and achievement.

We are grateful for everyone who helped make this year a success and look forward to what's ahead.

Have a wonderful summer!

NJTC tutors do more than support academic growth. They become part of the school community.

One tutor shared:

"I would really love to come back next year as the 7th and 8th grade math tutor for Bergen Middle. I feel like part of the staff family and have created strong bonds with both the scholars and staff."
Another reflected on the support they received:

"The training I received helped me communicate and collaborate professionally with my team."
From onboarding and coaching to on-site support, we're committed to helping tutors develop the skills and confidence they need to make a difference for scholars.

High-impact tutoring works, and how it’s done matters.

When it’s grounded in research, scholars build real skills and confidence.

That’s what we focus on every day.

Great tutors like Mr. D really make scholars' feel fully supported.

Not only does Mr. D care for his scholars' academic needs, he cares for their social and emotional needs as well.

That's why we train our tutors to use social emotional learning. So scholars, like those tutored by Mr. D, are fully cared for. Hudson Arts and Science Charter School

Limited funding hinders high-need schools and hard-to-staff schools from implementing high-impact tutoring. The PATHS to Tutor Act would help eliminate this financial barrier, enabling schools to supplement instruction with high impact tutoring.

This will be the THIRD time the PATHS to Tutor Act has been introduced to Congress. We're hoping this Act will pass both houses of Congress and be signed into law! 📜

Across the country, schools are facing educator workforce challenges.

According to the Learning Policy Institute, more than 400,000 teaching positions are either unfilled or staffed by teachers working outside their certification area.

At NJ Tutoring Corps, we're helping address this challenge through our Tutor Apprenticeship Program, creating opportunities for aspiring educators to gain hands-on experience while supporting scholars through high-impact tutoring.

When we invest in future educators, we strengthen both today's classrooms and tomorrow's workforce.

Every improvement starts with a moment when a scholar realizes they can do something they couldn't do before.

One scholar shared:

"The tutoring helped since I learned how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions."

Another reflected:

"I feel like I improved a lot more since the first of the school year."

Behind every assessment score is a scholar building confidence, strengthening skills, and discovering what they're capable of achieving.

This is why high-impact tutoring matters.

The inaugural NJTC Apprentice Capstone Celebration marked an exciting milestone for both our apprentices and the Tutor Apprenticeship Program.

Held on June 5, apprentices, NJTC staff, higher education partners, and representatives from the New Jersey and U.S. Departments of Labor came together to celebrate apprentice accomplishments and reflect on the impact of this innovative pathway into education.

Congratulations to our apprentices on this achievement and thank you to the partners who help make this work possible. Katherine Bassett Chelsea Collins U.S. Department of Labor New Jersey Department of Education
