Hello All,
It's that time of year again!!! I am excited to get started with our Cavalry teams this spring and continue our growth as a program. This spring, we will operate slightly differently than in the past as we plan to make our teams more competitive while also continuing our learning environment. There is a lot of information below so please read through carefully for each section.
Tryouts: Tryouts will be held on Sun, February 25; 12pm - 2pm and Sun, March 3; 12pm - 2pm at Morris Central Park turf. - Tryout fee= $50 non-refundable whether you do or do not make the team. - Top 12 players will be selected for each age division of 8u, 9u, 10u, 11u.
- Once selected, I will discuss with each parent separately on where your athlete will be this spring season. If selected and you decide to join us for the season, an additional $150 is required for the month of March. This fee includes practice field fee, teamsnap fee and coaches fee.
Tournaments: We will be participating in 4 tournaments this Spring/Summer season. We plan to only bring 9 players to each tournament, which means there will be 3 additional players as alternates. We do not need to announce to our players that 3 of our team members are alternates as this allows us flexibility within our roster should a player miss a tournament for any reason (sickness, family conflict, other sports etc.) It's your choice as a parent how you want to communicate this to them as it can be difficult to understand why there's an alternate. However, I promise that all 12 on the roster will make the trip to the MetLife tournament in April/May. All other tournaments we will bring 9.
March 16 tournament: New Rochelle, NY
Our March tournament, we will bring 9 players but have a 12 person practice squad. Please see next section for our dates/times for practices in March. Practice fee for March is $150 and additional $75 tournament fee.
April/May: MetLife tournament:
Our MetLife tournament is by far the best event of the Spring!! All 12 players will be automatically invited to participate in this tournament. I am waiting for an official date but it will be April/May timeframe. We will host 2 weeks of practice sessions, total of 4-6 practices, leading up to the MetLife tournament, practice dates TBD. The practice fee for this month will be $100 and tournament fee of $150 totaling $250.
June 1 tournament: New Rochelle NY
New Rochelle tournament we will bring 9 players but have a 12 person practice squad. We will practice for the two weeks leading up to the tournament and again host 4-6 practices. The practice fee will be $100 and the tournament fee will be $75 per player.
July 20 tournament : TBD
This tournament (location TBD, either New Rochelle again or Hillsborough) we'll bring 9 players but have a 12 person practice squad. We will practice for the two weeks leading up to the tournament and host 4-6 practices. The practice fee will be $100 and the tournament fee will be $75 per player.
MARCH practice schedule:
We will be holding 3 turf sessions located at Morris Central Park (at the turf fields) on the following dates: Sun, March 3 12pm -2pm (Tryout and practice) Tues, March 12 4pm -6pm (Practice)Fri, March 15 6pm -8pm (Practice)We will be holding 1 practice session on Simmons Mini Turf the following dates: Sun, March 10 Time TBD (practice) Uniforms: Our standard uniform consists of: Cavalry Jersey Top55 to rush order a jersey- takes 2 weeks (some players may already have their uniform and no need to order a new one unless of a sizing issue)Black shorts with no pockets Whether you already have or order some on your own, we will not be making a group order for shorts
