Clinton County Federation of Fish and Game Clubs is offering two free camperships to eligible youth. Young people ages 11-13 and 14-17 are eligible to attend one of two camps. Campers must be the minimum age by December 1 in the calendar year to attend camp. Camp Colby hosts youth ages 11-13 for four weeks and ages 14-17 for three weeks. Pack Forest hosts students ages 14 – 17 for four weeks and ages 11-13 for three weeks. Check with the website to see which weeks each age group attends. . Dates of the camperships are seven weeks from June 28 – August 14. The only commitment of guardians is to provide travel to and from the camps.. A child needs to apply by writing a letter indicating why he or she would like to attend the camp and send it to Mr. Larry Velie at 106 Rock Rd., Plattsburgh, NY 12901 or via email at [email protected] First come, first served. Registration is March 23 at 12 noon. Camperships and selected weeks go quickly. More information is available online at the DEC website, dec.ny.gov .(See below) This is an excellent opportunity for young people to experience the many opportunities that outdoor activities can enrich a child’s life.
There’s no time to lose; send in your letter to Mr. Velie as soon as possible after you check with mom, dad or your guardian. Spend a week at camp enjoying and learning about great outdoor activities!
Who can attend: any child between the ages of eleven and seventeen. The only obligation is for the parents/guardians to provide transportation to and from the camp sites. No membership in any sportsman ‘s club is required.
