Sharon Reed has won the distinguished honor of Morrison Ruritan Citizen of the Year.
Sharon is a lifelong Warren County resident who has lived in Morrison since she was 5. For the past 17 years, she has been a teller at First National Bank of Middle Tennessee.
She has done a little of everything in a working career that began when she was 16. Her first job was at Dairy Queen back when it was located on Beersheba Street. She’s also done screen printing at a factory in Manchester, worked at Captain D’s, and built air conditioners at Carrier before it shut down.
Sharon was married to husband David Reed for 42 years before losing him to a battle with brain cancer. She has two children, Betsy and Lil’ David, and two grandchildren, Ryan and Rhett.
A longtime photographer dating back to her days of using a Polaroid camera, Sharon has taken wedding photos and casual photos for seniors. She admits that nowadays the camera is mainly focused on her grandsons.
A banquet to honor Sharon Reed as Citizen of the Year will be held next Saturday, March 28, at 6 p.m. at the Morrison Ruritan building.
