"Where there's a need, there's a Lion".

Thanks to a generous grant from the Lions Club International Foundation, the Crete Lions were able to distribute buckets of cleaning supplies to Crete residents impacted by recent storms.

A big thank you also to the Crete Woman's Club for their generous donation to help with this event.

Thank you as well to the Crete United Methodist Church for allowing us to use their parking lot for the distribution!

The past few weeks have shown what Crete is really made of.

The Crete Lions Club wanted to express our appreciation for all the local teams working around the clock to clean up after the recent storm damage.

To say thank you, we set out to provide the DPW, Crete Police, Crete Fire Department, EMA, and the Crete Township Fire and Highway Departments with a hot lunch today.

​But when we went to pick up the order at Aurelio’s, they refused to take our money, generously donating and delivering the entire meal to the men and women working tirelessly to restore our town.

​"It takes a village" might sound like a cliché, but watching everyone step up to help their neighbors proves that Crete isn't just a place to live.

It is truly a community in every sense of the word.

One of our own Crete Lions, Paul Herrmann, went on the Honor Flight Chicago last night. A bunch of us went to welcome him back home. Thank you, Paul, for your service in the Navy in Vietnam!!
