Team Make A Difference

Team Make A Difference Team Make a Difference was started to help children or adults battling a life threatening physical,

Team Make a Difference is a new non-profit organization that was started to help people in need, specifically a child or adult who is ill, whether physically, mentally, or emotionally, by renovating a room to assist in their healing. This space is considered their special place within their home, where they spend most of their time. We want to create an atmosphere that will not only be accessible

for their individual needs, but uplifting, beautiful, and unique to the individual. It will be their comfort zone, a room where they can quietly heal and regain strength and hope. Team Make a Difference will also create a lasting memory for each Hero by providing a photo shoot, including a family portrait and a book to remember our journey together.

Jim Trabold & Tribeca Marble & Granite are amazing! Jim has helped TMaD on other makeovers and always does everything he can to help us make a difference. We asked him to come look to see if he could possibly install a missing fireplace hearth. While he was there, we noticed how bad the kitchen counter was and asked his opinion on how we could fix it. He made some calls and said they would be back Saturday to install a new granite countertop, sink, & faucet! We cannot thank him and his amazing crew for making this happen (on a Saturday)!! You're the BEST Jim Trabold & Tribeca Marble & Granite!!! THANK YOU again for making a difference!

Ron Plunk and Allied Landscaping are ALWAYS willing to help us with our Hero Makeovers. Ron always comes right out when called and then says, whatever you need, we will do. He (and his crew) are just amazing people. They cleaned out all the debris from the pool area that the Joliet Fire removed. They put in grass in the old pool area, they cleaned whatever areas in the yard that needed clean up, they put in mulch where needed, cleaned up the fire pit area, and trimmed the large tree above the garage. They were gonna come back and put in new fencing that was needed until the Joliet firemen took care of it. I cannot say enough about them. Thank you Ron & crew for ALWAYS helping us make a difference. YOU ARE AWESOME!

Plainfield Fire helped us transport Sam for the start of our Makeover and was scheduled to bring Sam home the following Sunday. We found out Friday that Sam thought it would be cool to ask them to "Move That Truck" (like the show Extreme Home Makeover). We reached out to Doug Mullen and he said "Absolutely, and we will bring the ladder truck". Thank you so much to them for being so wonderful with Sam, and for helping make this memory for Sam and his mom. They have helped transport Sam many times and are so wonderful with him. We have worked with the Plainfield Fire in the past with hero makeovers, and they always amaze us with their willingness to help. We appreciate them and thank them for helping us and for their daily service to the community. We appreciate you!! THANK YOU!!!

A huge thank you to the AMAZING Joliet firemen who came out to make a HUGE difference with Team Make a Difference. When we reached out to Dan Berta and Eric Mattson to ask if they could help us with our Hero 23 Makeover, they were happy to help. We asked if they could remove the old pool and unsafe balcony and possibly fix any unsafe boards on the deck. They said it all needs to be replaced and we will be there to do it all! They worked from morning til night Tuesday through Sunday in the rain, snow, and sunshine. They also replaced fencing that they noticed was needed! It is just awesome what they were able to accomplish. We (and the family) are truly grateful. They have worked with us many times in the past, but they still always amaze us with their willingness to help and their hard work. We are so grateful for them for helping us and for their service to the community every day. Joliet fire, you ROCK!!!! Here are the Before and After pictures.

Here is Joann's Master bedroom. All new lighting was installed throughout the house, inside and outside (except 2). All new outlets, light switches, and vents were installed throughout the house as well. The old carpet was removed and replaced with new flooring. A new sliding door was installed, with the old & unsafe balcony removed and a Juliet balcony installed. New toilets were installed, bathroom cabinets were painted with new hardware, new shower head, electric/Alexa controlled blinds, and new decor throughout. Joann wanted a beachy Santorini feel. We loved how it turned out. Joann has since named her home, Serenity. Videos will be posted later.

Here are the before/after pictures from Hero Sam's bedroom. We moved Sam from his current bedroom into the larger spare/storage room. We added a ceiling lift to aid in transferring him from his bed into his wheelchair. All new electrical was installed that is Alexa voice controlled, including his blinds, track light above head of the bed, and tv mount. About a week before the makeover began, Sam was nervous about moving rooms because the paramedics wouldn't be able to make the turn into the new room, so we decided to knock out the wall in the hall and add a barn door so they could go directly into the room. It fit perfectly. He wanted to be able to see all his collectibles and memories so we added a shelf around the room with RGB lights and framed all his favorite posters. We framed his favorite sports jerseys and created a sign with his favorite quote "When all else fails, pet a duck." All his medical supplies were organized, labeled and put in bins. We had so much fun creating a space that was perfectly Sam's. We loved how it turned out! Videos will be posted later.

We hope to see you there!
